I had a hard time finding a meat tenderizer that was real stainless. This one is stainless. I was also worried that it would be a little small and too light, but it is well balanced, and weighty enough to work perfectly. I have used it to tenderize 1/2-inch to 3/4-inch steaks and to make beef jerky strips. This has worked on all kinds of beef cuts. The head of the hammer is very easy to clean as the "teeth" aren't too deep. I hand wash, but I imagine you could put it in the dishwasher too.

I was looking for a solid, stainless steel mallet that I could put in the dishwasher. This product is heavy=solid, and the handle has a nice grip that feels tight. I haven't used/washed it more than twice, but it really seems to be a great fit for me. I do think it will hold up to use, dishwasher and look good too. I highly recommend.

This is just as great as the high reviews say it is! I used to have the ones you can find in stores, but the metal on those goes dark gray after being in the dishwasher, and it just seems poisonous at that point. :-b This meat mallet is lightweight yet sturdy and feels great in the hand, it's stainless steel and easy to clean and wash - and dishwasher safe, and I like that the spiky side was not really spiky, but rather small round bumps. It does the same job of the spiky type mallets, but without tearing up the plastic wrap or paper that you cover the meat with while pounding it thin/or tenderizing. The quality of this product is great, and the price is about the same as products with much lower quality.

We bought this only as a mallet to loosen up plastic bags of pre-packaged ice (with the smooth side) and it does the job. The weighted head seems to hit the spot, so to speak. So far as one can yet tell, the build quality is tight and clean. The overall finish is good but not tip top. While it looks to us like some grade of stainless steel, since it's made in China, we'd be wary about the alloy and letting it come in direct contact with food or ice: We would have bought a more trusted make for that.

I make a lot of chicken based dishes and the one thing I detest is having tough meat that you have to chew forever. I had my old mallet for a long time, it was the kind where the head was detachable. It worked but was inconvenient as the head would come off and it was rather heavy. This mallet on the other hand is pretty prefect and I love how it feels in my hand. It doesn't slip and is not too heavy. It's been very effective, both for flattening and tenderizing. I have tiny drawers in my kitchen so I love that it has a hook that I can use to just hang it up. And the fact that it is dishwasher safe is a definite plus!

Item arrived on time, was packaged well to minimize damage, and was exactly as described online. The mallet weighs 13.9 ounces (I weighed it). It has a good weight, feels well-balanced in the hand, washes well in the dishwasher, does a great job on chicken (flat side) and beef and pork (ridged side) and does not tear up the meat. I am very, very pleased with this product and would purchase from this seller again.

This meat mallet is great. Just the right weight. Feels sturdy and does a great job, especially on Chicken breast. Good for all kinds of meat as well. Machine washable. Nice handle.

The meat tenderizer is awesome!!! The handle allows you to control the mallet together with absolute perfect weight. I used it on bonesless chicken cutlets and it took less time to achieve the correct thicknes than with any other mallet I have used. Wonderful product!
