uPVC Universal Window Hinge Kit Double Glazing Friction Stay PVC 13mm 17mm Stack Non Handed Stainless Steel

Never changed hinges on uPVC windows before & had v low expectations of success! Watched a brief YouTube video & everything worked first time. Amazing!! Hinges perfect for the job - used the packers on the window side, not the frame side of the hinges, as this coincided with how previous hinges were fitted. Had to drill new holes for all 6 screws in the window (you just need to take the time to ensure that the top (plastic) part of the hinge is in the correct position before drilling new holes. Top & bottom holes aligned on frames so all good. One small piece of advice - the hinges aren’t supplied with self tapping screws so keep the old screws & re-use. Window closes perfectly. Great value & fit. Hurrah!!

I never changed one of these before and my windows weren’t opening and closing properly. I measured the ones i had and ordered these. One for the bottom of a left and right window. They were pretty straight forward to change once you are used to a bit of DIY and now the windows are opening and closing like new. They’re decent quality, very sturdy and good value.

Great Item. Easy to replace old worn out hinge. Window had a gap due to the hinge being worn/bent. After replacing (Videos on YouTube will assist if you don't know how) Window now opens and closes nice and easy now with a nice snug fit.

Despite many of the 1 star ratings saying the quality is poor and the hinges do not open correctly, this product is actually ok. I had a similar problem where the top section of one of the hinges did not seat correctly but I soon realised I had opened it in the wrong direction. There is a small arrow stamped on one of the brackets to indicate the direction of opening. Once the hinge was opened in the direction of the arrow, the top section seated correctly every time. It will always fail if the hinge is opened in the wrong direction. The only other issue was that the existing holes did not line up but that is to be expected given the variety of hinges that are out there. I suggest that the supplier provides some guidelines on how to install correctly to avoid the 1 star ratings. Hope this helps!

These hinges are useless don't waste your money. They came with the LHS plastic guide fitted to the RH mechanism and visa versa. Also when the window closes the metal spike does not engage into the plastic guide so does not pull the window in so you dan lock it.

Perfect for home maintenance for one of our windows. Easy to replace from the old ones and saved us a lot of money doing it ourselves.

Used for TOP opening small kitchen window. Fitted within 20 mins of arriving, and that's having to grind head off 2 rusted screws and extract, cleaning fitting edges and fitting back to frame and window. The original top/bottom holes of the frame matched the side plate ones, but drilled the centre one after all fittings were adjusted and tightened. The top/ bottom of the widow hinge plate matched the window holes. Assembled with all top and bottom screws in place but not fully tightened yet, the frame side hinge plate should be in the same place vertically as the originals, then these were tightened. The Window was pulled fully down on the hinge screw slots and slowly closed to see if top and bottom of the window had equal overlap to the frame and that the bottom handle didn't interfere with closing . It did so the window frame screws were fully tightened. For max strength I drilled and added the hinge centre screws. I did this on my own with some good balancing skills as it was only a small window, but I do not recommend this, slipping while only one hinge is fully fitted would lead to damaged/twisted hinge. I liked the fact that packing pieces were included as standard for this 13mm stack hinge, although not needed for my application. Now to sort the front room small top bay windows with 10" size which have needed fixing for years.

It works well. Good quality.but you need little knowledge of DIY.
