I close the vent if I want to increase moisture to food that may be slightly dried and I am microwaving for short time periods. But I learned that it the vent is closed for too long over food it can become too hot and too moist. **Q: Is the Microwave Plate Cover easy to grasp?** A: The Microwave Plate Cover has a large hand grip. There are close-ups in the product picture. **Q: What are inside dimensions? It says "About 4.5" high by 11.5" diameter" ("about" concerns me) and I would like to cover a 11 3/8 inch plate** A: The inside dimension of this item is exactly 11". The exterior size is 11.25", not 11.5". This was a big deal to me because my dinner plates are exactly 11", and I figured this would cover them completely. Sadly, not so. Still--a really nice item, but not accurately sized in the description. Of course, the description uses "about" when it comes to dimensions, so I guess they have that covered. Ouch--sorry about that. **Q: Do you get one or 2 covers?** A: 1 ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Buena compra *by J***L on 15 January 2023* Es fácil de tomar, amplia y tapa muy bien. Es justo lo que quería lo he usado y es de tamaño Perfecto ,fácil limpieza moderno alto Perfecto ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love the bigger diameter microwave cover *by F***0 on 16 January 2026* I recently began feeling frustrated with the microwave cover that we’ve been using for years. As the plates we normally use to heat up food in the microwave are almost the same size as the cover we had. But sometimes the cover would slide off and food would tend to splatter and make a mess. So I wondered if there was a larger cover available to solve this problem. Fortunately I did some looking and found this one on Amazon. The price was reasonable so I decided to give it a try. And I’m sure glad I did. Now our plates are completely covered when we use this and no more messes to clean up. ## Frequently Bought Together - Microwave Splatter Cover for Food Large Microwave Plate Cover Guard Lid with Steam Vents, 1.5 Inch BPA Free & Dishwasher Safe-Grey - Microwave Splatter Cover for Food Large Microwave Plate Food Cover With Easy Grip Handle Anti-Splatter Lid With Enlarge Perforated Steam Vents,11.5 Inch,BPA Free & Dishwasher Safe --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/454238375-microwave-splatter-cover-for-food-large-plate-cover-guard-lid](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/454238375-microwave-splatter-cover-for-food-large-plate-cover-guard-lid) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-19*
