any tips how to clean it carefully?

Use a hand vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to get any dust or debris off the surface. Then use a soft, damp cloth. Never spray any water or other liquids onto the drill, always apply the liquid to a cloth, never onto the appliance. If you need something stronger than water, moisten the cloth with some isopropyl alcohol. To help speed up the drying process, run the hand vacuum with brush attachment over it. Do not try to use a blow dryer on it, never blow onto the unit, always "pull away" with the vacuum cleaner.

Is it compatible with the 18v batteries I already have?

Absolutely not! No way You gotta pay your dues buying 12v batteries and charger there are so good deals. Out there you get the drill 2 batteries a charger and a case for not to much money then your in 12v. I love my 12v drill it's lite duty just the sound of it is good just ordered a12v jig saw KIT 124.00 I'm sure it Will be lite duty no 2x12 but it will cut.

is this drill brushless?

Mine isn't ,that may be why the excellent price you'd have to use it a real lot for brushes to be replaced l love mine it's a very well built LITE duty drill/driver I still have my makita 9.6v stalk battery drill it still works (no batteries by makita) never had to put brushes in it and I used it professionally.

How long does the battery go before needing to be recharged?

Obviously depends on the work load, but I am satisfied with the battery performance. Also, it comes with 2 batteries so while using one keep the other in the charger and switch them out as needed
