I’m so fed up with knife sharpening ~ or rather non~sharpening! Over the years, I have given my knives to our local, friendly butcher who gives me back wonderfully sharp kitchen knives but I need to keep him in my draw, as knives need to be kept sharp! In my kitchen, I have virtually every sharpener available to man, but this simple one is the one I’m turning to all the time because it works! After use I rinse it under warm water to remove loose filings, air dry & back in draw until tomorrow! No complicated wrist/hand actions, just swipe the knife edges across the 400 & finish with the 600; wipe knife clean & away you go! I have been able to bring back a completely blunt edge to a respectable sharp cutting one! For the price of one of these, it’s definitely worth getting one & experiment ~ I don’t believe you’ll be disappointed. I’m about to order my second one for another kitchen!

This works fine for now. Perfectly happy with it. Time will tell if it lasts or not.

Really handy, quick way to get a sharp edge back on a knife. I use this daily to maintain the edges on my kitchen knives. Also very inexpensive, compared with a quality steel. Delivered within 24 hour too.

I bought this specifically to put the edge back on a ceramic knife, which it did no problem. There seems to be quite a lot of difference between the two sides, i.e. the 400 feels very rough (more like 200) whilst the 600 seems very smooth (more like 800), but it does ultimately it does the job. I was worried that, being foldable, it would be a bit wobbly when sharpening, but it's perfectly sturdy.
