Go Fish Untamed Oceans – Card Game for Kids 4-8, Old Maid and Slap Jack

I looked for something that would interest my just turned three-year-old grandson, and the package showed a clownfish. As I examined it further, the pictures of ocean fish were attractive and popular, such as dolphins, whales, and others I believed he would be able to identify. The colors were very bright, and I liked the font used for the numbers too. The back side showed a lighthouse, making the deck even more nautical for a game of go fish. Now for the day of introduction. He grabbed the box and starting naming everything he saw. Playing go fish was a little above his head, he he has to learn the concept of hiding his hand from the other players. He has no knowledge of shuffling and dealing, but I have every reason to believe he will pick it up as he has learned everything else—through time and maturity. I was a little disappointed that the dolphin and shark and the whale are so similar. They are all in an upright position, and I would have preferred different positions. I tried to teach him that there are four of the same fish for each set, so today I handed him each card and had him make piles of the pictures. He went through all 48 cards and recognized each, and he placed each card on the correct set. Blew my mind. His attention was such that he was able to “stay” through the whole procedure and not walk away to find something else to do after a couple minutes as he has always done in the past. That had everything to do with how attractive these cards were to him along with my praise and encouragement! Thanks for making this deck.

I'm very happy with this card deck. I love the animal artwork and the quality of the deck. It's perfect for my 3.5 year old. Go fish is simple enough for him to work on numbers, animals, matching, and listening to instructions, but engaging enough that it's fun for me, too. I'll probably wait to introduce Slap Jack and Old Maid until he's a little older, but I appreciate that those cards and instructions are included. I saw options from other brands where each game is a separate deck which seems so unnecessary. This is simple and perfect. Highly recommend.

We got this card game for my 3 year old daughter who likes fish and she loves it! The cards are beautiful. We are playing Go Fish with her and it’s helping her practice her speech and social skills on top of giving us a little activity to do as a family.

Cards are great... fun to play with the kids, Pappi and the entire family. BTW, cards are easy to handle and durable. AND... if you spill something on them (which happens), they stand the test. Love this family game! Plus, they are made in Arizona... that's pretty cool too!

My 3 year old nephew loves Slap Jack! By saying the card numbers as they’re turned, he’s practicing his numbers at the same time. Great game!
