I tried mixing my shake in an old blender and the ice wasn't crushed. I didn't even know i had put ice in this blender for my shake. It works great for ice and frozen stuff. It does get stuck but if you give it a stir it starts right up. All blenders are going to be loud. This one isn't so much, but folks have complained about it. This thing is huge in a GOOD way!!
