Doughnuts are the best medicine
I loved this start to a new series.I love this authors work, and this book did not disappoint.I have read these books out of order, but that did not matter, I thoroughly enjoyed it.Myles and Ava are great characters. Ava fresh from a holiday comes back to find her nemesis running her office, and the tension is palpable. But as they do, cracks start to show, and we find all is not as it appears.Perceived enemies become friends, become enemies, then more. This is all from Avas' perspective. The sections from Myles are very enlightening. It is a great story of how first impressions can be misconstrued and never make assumptions.I loved these characters and highly recommend this book, series, and author.

Loved it!
I’ve read a few of Carrie Elks’ books but this has to be my favourite from this talented author. This one is written in the first person, which is unusual for Carrie but I loved it. Myles and Ava are a brilliant couple of characters but Myles steals the show for me. For me he’s a the perfect book boyfriend. Grumpy, sweet and sexy. I loved the story of the family get together and found the ‘Olympics’ entertaining. It introduced us to the other Salinger brothers and I can’t wait for Liam and Sophie’s book. A great, fun and sweet read with some added spice.

A light and easy read
Main Tropes/Features: Workplace romance, (Slight) Enemies to lovers, Pregnancy journey, MCs who are in their 30-40sSecondary Tropes/Features: (Slight) Grumpy-Sunshine, Age gap (7 years), Rom-comTriggers: N/AMyles and Ava’s book was a light and easy read. Their romance was enjoyable and lighthearted, feeling like it was only just touching on it’s main tropes, which meant it maintained a Rom com feel. The characters were also likeable and very well suited to one another. As described by Ava they both substituted taking care of others for taking care of themselves and when they couldn’t do that they didn’t know what to do. This created some of my favourite moments in the book as they both had to learn to let others take care of them and in the brief moments when they were truly vulnerable there were sweet and endearing interactions which I loved.‘Strictly Business’ had a likeable charm due to the main and side characters and the simple but effective plot. It was another enjoyable book in this series and a series I will finish eventually.

4.5 Feel-Good Stars
Strictly Business is an excellent office enemies-to-lovers novel.Myles and Ava made for fantastic adversaries, with top-notch banter and chemistry to keep the interest going throughout. That is, until an unusual offer changes the nature of their relationship forever.I managed to read this book in a couple of days and found it to be a real page-turner. I thought the characters were likeable, the secondary characters were brilliant, and it was a vivacious, up-beat, and engaging read. It's a perfect book for someone looking for a fun and refreshing story.

Steamy office romance
An office romance I devoured in less than 2 days; well-written and so easy to read. It’s the story of Ava & Myles who have a not so friendly work relationship but come to an awkward agreement when he finds out she plans to become a single mother. I liked that the MCs are around their 40s, it was a nice change. And I did like both of them, with their different characters.I had high hopes for this one but some things could have been better, so I can’t give it more than 4/5. I felt that things were rushed and we didn’t get to see how exactly the FMC’s change of heart happened or learn what was that made the MMC fall in love with her.I’m pretty sure I will read the next one though, given the chance. ☺️-Dual 1st person POV-Spice: 🌶️🌶️.5Overall: 4/5 ⭐️ for me.

Strictly Amazing
I read book 5 first and I had thought Linc was so romantic and loved his woman perfectly but his oldest brother showed how it’s done! The chemistry and attachment between Myles and Ava was perfect. I couldn’t have asked for a better relationship than that. She hated him on sight but he fell in love with her as soon as he saw her. She thought he always scowled at her but it was actually him concentrating on her! Lol! I know I’m going to be rereading this again in a few months. I am loving the series so far and the author. Very refreshing, no toxicity whatsoever.

Quirky and enjoyable
This book popped up on my Facebook newsfeed and I just got the urge to give it a try... And I'm so glad I did!I was desperately in the mood for an easy, spicy romcom and this ticked all my boxes! It was so funny and cringey at the same time... I found myself genuinely awkward giggling at home, I think with second hand embarrassment for the characters. In a totally good way though! It's so bizarrely different and I love it. It got to midnight and I knew I was going to regret not falling asleep earlier ready for the 2am baby feed but I just couldn't seem to put the bloody book down!Spicier than I expected which was a good surprise. I think the book cover and description deceived me into thinking it would be really tame.I loved Myles. He was so sweet and brooding and even referred to as Henry cavill which made it even better for me to picture him!Ava was adorable. I loved her personality: sweet but sassy! She was such a nice girl but didn't roll over for anyone and I respected that! The story as a whole was quite unrealistic and seriously odd but enjoyable... I've never actually read a book with this sort of storyline before so it was new and fun!I can't wait to read the next book to find out Sophie and Liam's story now!

PERFECTION!
this book is not only good, it’s perfect! I felt so many emotions while reading it, it was like I was Ava living every page! And Myles omg how can a character be so breathtaking? I had to remind me that he was fictional because I was falling in love with him too lol! I love everything that Carrie writes. I really wish and hope this book gets the recognition it deserves. It should be translated in many languages.

This Book Was Just What I Needed!!!!
I was looking for a book that was a feel good rom com, and this book was exactly what I needed!!! This book was so well written, it made me laugh, made me emotional, made me swoon, made me fall in love, made me angry and happy, it made me smile, and it is one of the best books I've read this year!!!!I loved Ava!!! She is strong, smart, independent, and loyal. She is a fantastic heroine!!!! I would either want to be like her or her friend!Myles is such a complex character with so much going on beneath the surface. At first he seems so grouchy and angry. Very stern. When in reality he's just trying to figure things out. He also has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders, between his professional life and his personal life. Once Ava starts to uncover all the layers that make up Myles, it is easier to understand why he acts the way he does. I really liked him, and was really rooting for him and Ava to be together!I loved the plot of this book!! It was different from the usual rom com, and the way Carrie Elks approached it was very fresh and exciting! So much fun!!Loved the secondary characters, especially Lauren and Sophie - Ava's best friends. They are what BFF's should be! Ava's mother was such a character, in every way!! The Salinger family was a handful! I really can't come up with words to completely describe them, they just need to be experienced! Loved Myles brother Liam! Can't wait for his story!!!I absolutely LOVED this book!!! It was a ray of sunshine in my life for the time I was engrossed in it!!! Seriously, one of the best books I've read this year! Do yourself a favor and jump into it - you won't be sorry!!!!

Be carefull to start reading because you don't want to put the book down!
Miles and Ava have a special story to tell. I also really liked that the characters are both leading a established life and are happy with it. I loved it and once I started reading I couldn't put it down. Thank God for the extended epilogue.
