I found out about this ladder from my electrician, who drove his small sedan to our house to redo our service two stories up on the back wall of our house. When he finished the job and started loading his things into the car, I asked him how he was going to get the ladder back with no roof rack. I was shocked when he fit it right into his back seat! I have since bought one myself, and I've already used it folded for things like dry-walling my 14 foot high ceiling, putting up new downspouts for my rain catchment system, and caulking some exterior windows that I built. Things I like about it include: - Folds up to a small size for transportation and storage - Multiple configurations - Wide base for a more solid foundation - Wide top for better balance against the wall - Sturdy - Not too heavy - locks click into place by themselves, so you don't need four arms to use it The main downside is that it can be unwieldy to lift up to a vertical position once its extended because when it is so long, the leverage is working against you as you try to lift it up. But if you try to extend it once its already standing up, it can be hard to balance at the same time you are trying to lift it. Having another person could help with this, but I've always managed it on my own. It helps to be tall too. This is the kind of thing that you view as a good investment: you spend a little more money only once, but know that this will be the only ladder you will need for the rest of your life, and that it will make your life a lot easier from here on out!

We bought a new house and I wanted to get a ladder that would be good for both outside and inside. But I didn’t want to buy multiple ladders. I did a ton of research and found this model from Little Giant. I will say I’m super impressed! I’ve used this in almost every way you can and it’s been sturdy and reliable every time. I used it outside for hanging Christmas lights and also to access my gutters to clean them. Even on the highest extension it works well and is pretty sturdy. No, it doesn’t feel like a 1000 dollar ladder. But it absolutely works and holds up nicely. I’ve also used it multiple ways in the house both as a regular step ladder, step ladder extended, and extension latter to paint the top of a high wall I have. It’s been super study and reliable with all those uses. It’s a bit heavy but not too bad especially seeing as how much it can do and how sturdy it is. It has wheels to help move it if you need them. And it opens, extends and closes very easily. Super happy with it!

It's vital to have a ladder tall enough to extend beyond the roof line. A plus that this is also a step ladder. It is on the heavy side so care must be taken in handling it.

I think this ladder is great because of all the different situations it can be adapted to. However, my 22 ft. Velocity arrived damaged, a dent in the center of the top rung. This clearly did not happen in shipping, it got past quality control. But where? The damage is not catastrophic, but I was concerned about it and contacted Little Giant to see if they thought it was a safety issue. They offered to replace it but Amazon insisted I go through them. They (Amazon) had already let me know this model was not available anymore, so it would be a while before I got one from Little Giant (My assumption). So I decided to keep it after Amazon offered a significant refund on the price, which was good of them to offer. I've been anxious to use it! So I finally have, and so far I'm very happy with it. I saw a video review of the 16 ft version where they criticized the flexing at the center hinge. And yes, it does flex quite a bit, but I feel very comfortable on it. I extended it to about 16 feet (again, I purchased the 22 ft model) and I felt more secure on it than on a conventional extension ladder. My feet feel more secure on the rungs on the way up and down, and the way the vertical rails splay out at the top and bottom make for a very stable feel when I was up there. The bouncyness on the way up is something I got used to right away, especially since it feels strong even though it flexes. The weight issue: It's not that heavy! 40 pounds. I'm a small guy - 130 lbs wet, and I have no problem carrying it around. I don't think I'll use the wheels much, either. It's easier to just pick it up. I also had no problem setting it up extended to almost 18 ft. If you're familiar with extension ladders, moving this around won't be a problem. It'll take some practice sliding the parts around to where I want them; it's not as easy as the company's video makes it look, but with practice I'll get to know how to get it into the positions I want. I'll be using it to do home inspections as well as my around my own house, and think it'll be very useful. The difference between this ladder and a conventional extension ladder is that you have to extend it FIRST before you set it in place, (at least that's the safest way I found; their video shows him lifting it vertically, but I tried that. NO Way on this model) so you have to be sure to have the feet set firm against something to push that kind of length up. I was a little worried at first, but it was surprisingly easy. I haven't put it in every position but I will try to very soon. I'm only giving it 4 stars because I'm not sure it's a good idea to buy it through Amazon. If it came straight from Little Giant would there be less of a chance of it being damaged? I never got to the bottom of those questions. Amazon's customer service was very good, though. I'm glad I bought it, but I can see it isn't the tool for everyone. You have to work with it to find out if you like it, but for me so far so good! I'll update my review if I have more important experiences with it.

This is a fantastic ladder system for some of the higher off the ground projects. I was able to easily position it to get next to the wall and install speakers (extending one side out so it looked like a slide from the side). It is reasonably easy to carry (it is not as heavy as it looks), but there are also wheels, if you wish to use them. I found it easier to simply bend my knees, hook my hand over my shoulder, then grasp the rings of the ladder--stand up and walk to where I needed to go. Due to the wide placement of the lower part of the ladder, it is extremely stable, no rocking or shaking once set up and "wiggled" into place. I found extending the ladder a bit of a challenge until I figured out how to re-set the orange "rockers" to lock the step into position. Reading the directions would probably have helped. The absolute best thing I love about this ladder? It can stand up by itself in storage (no leaning against something). It is very versatile, especially for higher, awkward places. The only thing I would consider changing is the rung depth. The rungs are a tad narrow (bare feet are NOT a good idea). However, to make them deeper, that would add weight--which I definitely would not want. So it's a reasonable trade off.

So I waited almost a year to review this ladder. It is heavy but you can put it on one side of your shoulder squat a little and lift it up. I didn’t know if I would really need the 20ft ladder but we recently purchased a 3 story townhome with 12 ft ceilings and this ladder makes it super easy to switch air filters in ceiling. This ladder also came in handy when I had to paint on stairwell on my old house. One part of the stairs has at 15ft ceiling and with the ability to have one side of ladder shorter than the other help me paint the stairwell by myself. It saved me a lot of money. I am very happy I made the investment in this ladder. This is a 1 in many different features and does not take up so much room for storage. Definitely buy this than a regular ladder.

This ladder feels extremely well made. It seems very heavy for aluminum, probably due to it’s length. Folds nicely, stands around 5 feet when folded. Has small nylon/rubber rollers to aide in transporting/maneuverability. The side lock/levers work well and are large and comfortable to actuate. Easily sliding rails for proper height adjustment. The only downfall I can see is the wheels are somewhat small and would have been nice to be able to drop the wheels lower to be able to roll the ladder a bit easier without having to tilt it so much, allowing the wheels to touch the ground. Overall the steps are comfortable and wide enough for your foot to sit on it without having the feeling of standing on a bar like some ladders feel like. It’s a good quality cast and sturdy security levers give you peace of mind while your up 16’ or so. 🤗. Happy with the quality for the price paid here.

This is a strong, versatile ladder system! Some reviewers said they had -- or almost had -- accidents when the various locks didn't click into place. With a little bit of attention, this cannot happen. It is so clear when the locks are in, usually by way of strong pins that actually go through the frame. The ladder is versatile. I didn't know ahead of time if I'd use this feature, but I've found the ability to make one side straight up and down (with the climbing side on an angle), has been very useful both in the house and out. I had a wall to paint, and this setup let me get all over it without the ladder ever touching the wall. I also have an air intake duct high in a wall. There are little marks along the edge of the pot shelf where I used to place a straight ladder to get up to it. No more marks! Recently I had new satellite dish put on the roof. The installer was a young man named Sam. Sam is 6'5" tall and 350 lbs. His truck had 4 or 5 ladders on the rack, but Sam pulled his own Little Giant Ladder out of the van. It turned out to be an older version of the one I just bought (they are 19' long fully extended: why do they have to say they are 22 feet? I'm guessing they figure that on a 19-footer, you can work safely to 22 feet, but I'm still not sure that's a justification). Anyway, using his Li'l Giant (one "leg" straight, the other on an angle), Sam easily climbed onto my roof to do the job. The configuration allowed him to do that without the ladder ever leaning against the vulnerable roof gutters. Because of the way it's built, the ladder is relatively heavy (compared to my lighter aluminum ladders). That makes it a little awkward to fully extend it when you're on your own. It is top-heavy, and unless you're ready for it, it could get out of control when you're trying to get it max straight up in the air at its full height. It's easier if there are two of you, of course. That's said, I'm of average height and build, in good health though I'm over 60, and I can carry this ladder under one arm (in its folded configuration). On my various projects, I've managed to manhandle it on my own -- except when I was working indoors in tight quarters, and I asked my wife to help so I wouldn't knock over the TV or anything like that. I feel very secure climbing my Little Giant, and it is my go-to ladder for every job. By the way, we live in an area with gusty winds. Last summer when we were building a fence around our garden, using the lightweight aluminum step ladder, more than a few times, the wind just knocked it over. One time, it came crashing down on my wife's back. Fortunately, she wasn't hurt, but I would have preferred a sturdier ladder. That just can't happen with my Little Giant, so in some ways, somewhat heavier is a good thing (as with most things, there are trade-offs). To tell the truth, for years I've drooled over the Little Giant ladders every time I've gone by them in the hardware super stores. Now I have my own -- and so can you! Recommended.

Great versatile product, as described , very sturdy ladder and can be used in multiple ways, as others have commented it is a bit heavy, but lighter than most completive products. Easy to store and wheels certainly assist when moving.

Es una escalera bastante práctica con varias posiciones y extensible. El material se nota de calidad. El único pero sería el peso. La escalera es algo pesada. Al poderse doblar y contraer ocupa poco espacio y además cuenta con ruedas para trasladar la escalera. Se requiere de cierta destreza poder usar de forma segura y es aconsejable que sea manejada por dos personas por el peso de la misma

Very stable (I weigh 240lbs and it’s solid as a rock) but quite heavy as the trade-off. Only criticism concerns the care needed when adjusting length etc of ladder as VERY easy to get fingers caught if you aren’t super careful. Various ways of using it make it vastly different from other ladders and have meant me being able to access areas other ladders would not be able to. Highly recommended but watch those fingers!
