RIO Products Avid Series Trout Fly Line, Slickcast Freshwater Fly Fishing Line for Trout, Floating

I love Rio products. This fly line is perfect and amazing to cast with.

I like Rio fly line. I needed a 3wt. for a new reel but could not find it locally. Amazon to the rescue. I received the line I wanted in a few days and saved money on gas I would have used running all over the country trying to find the line I wanted.

Casts like butter. Always liked Rio and they continue to impress me.

I have used Rio lines almost exclusively on my Winston rods and Ross reels with great satisfaction over the years. Picked this up for a 4 day fly fishing trip to Montana and was so disappointed and shocked by the terrible quality of this fly line. It retained its memory each and every day of the trip. I had to pull off a bunch of line and play tug of war with our guide to get it to lose its memory. I thought this solution would remedy the issue after the first day but after spending a night on the reel it had the same memory in the morning. In addition to this frustrating aspect the line would not float and immediately sank, severely affecting my nymph and dry presentations. Super bummed.

Worked as advertised. Caught lots of fish. Seemed that I was able to cast farther than with previous line.

Maybe someone here can tell me what I am doing wrong. This lines casts just fine but it holds the reel memory. Do I need to pull it back and stretch it?

Slick and durable. Great value line for the money.
