I was thinking I'd need a chainsaw, but they scare me. The Terratek trimmer is a great compromise and has done the job really well. The length of the blade makes it easy to hack through the undergrowth and reach places you wouldn't be able to get to so easily with a shorter blade. It's fairly light to use and has a good safety mechanism, whereby you have to hold it with two hands and press down on two different switches to get the blades to work. Obviously you still need to be really careful but I felt quite safe using it. It was great using sweeping movements through the thicket but it was also precise enough to cut individual branches or strands of bindweed. When my trimmer arrived I noticed that one of the batteries wouldn't charge. There is a little button on the battery that lights up three LEDs to indicate the amount of charge and this button didn't work either. The other battery was fine. I emailed customer services on the day my trimmer arrived (Saturday) and received a response on Monday morning, as they only work Mon-Fri. They posted out a new battery, which I received on Wednesday and that battery works just fine. I think this is excellent customer service!
