Great automotive scope for the price
I already have an Autel MS906BT scanner so trying the Autel MP408 scope seemed to be the natural thing to do. From what I had seen on YT, the other options were either too limited or too expensive. I am pleased that the Autel seems to offer almost everything I need when using it on my scanner/tablet, and if/when I decide to buy a dedicated laptop for running the PC version of the software, that adds in the couple of things that I would use on a regular basis. So, the flexibility of having both a PC unit and a hand-held tablet is great. The package that I got including all the leads, attenuators, even back-probe pins was a great deal as well. I would say anyone needing to buy their own tools for home or work, unless budget is almost unlimited, this is a good choice. I should also mention that unlike some reviews you might see, the latest software on both PC and scanner includes the ability to add a filter to a signal which does make it much nicer for decoding some signals like spark plug firing.

Awesome oscilloscope
Had a problem getting it to connect to the program on my computer. Called Autel and they informed me that I needed a couple of updates. The updates were emailed to me. Works great now.

No PC Software on Autel Site Product Pages a Total Mess, Help is Here, A link is here
Its Friday July 1st, its 7 PM, just got my Maxiscope MP408, oh for Joy, I really need it. The link given on scrap paper that came with this is wrong. Surprise. Searched for Autel PC software. Found a downloads link, click on the MP408 MaxiScope Picture, download and install file, get many errors, bring up the software and I note Windows is calling it MaxiLink II, besides that the window that opened up is asking me to select one of 6 scanners, thats not Maxiscope, thats for some low end DIY scanners. Go back to the page and checked if I screwed up, nope. I then see a MaxiLink II icon next to the MaxiScope icon, just for fun I go into it. Oh surprise surprise, the file name in Maxi Link II is same as the one in MaxiXcope, could it be a generic file for everything, nope, I check all other icons for different products have different files. Great, now I have to wait 5 more days for Autel to come back to work cause they can't post a file to a web page.I do some more searches, get to another MAxiScope Product page, click downloads, oh thank God cause I really really really need to use this tonight or I'm totally screwed. Oh looky, in the downlaods theres only one thing, Andorid sofware to put on an autel scanner. Again no PC software, no manuals, no nothing. How is it Autel knows nothing about this, like I'm the only guy in the world who has tried to download this. I should haahve got a Pico Scope, Pico is known for its incredible software, unsurpassed product support, endless web page porduct support and perfect products. No I had to try to save money.Anyway being totally screwed I went on to a use site for the Maxiscope. A bunch of people had probles were the scope wouldn't connect to the PC, a bunch of them. For whatever reason I read thru a long line of posts, why not, it wans't like I was able to use my brand new scope. I see someone posts a link to PC sofware given to them by tech support, don't know why this is so hidden and I couldn't find it on the Autel site or endless searches for PC Software on the web.Thank God, I am able to down load the software, if you are as scred as I am, go to this site, it might not be the latest but it did come up and connect to the scope.http://www.autel.com/autelcms/u/cms/www/201511/10055352nlsu.zip.I hope Amazon lets this post, it will save them many returns, I was just about to return mine. I may yet do that and buy a Pico, if you are on the fence, buy a Pico. How can Autel World Wide not know the scopes page is totally screwed up, what are they the US government, is the Biden admin running this???? If they can't manage to post simple PC software, how can I trust a 2500$ plus scanners. My first and last Autel product, Im raging mad and no no faith at all in Autel. Glad their exec's are fat and happy and way over paid. Screw them. I'm buying from someone else.
