Q: Would this motherboard work with the Akasa Euler S case?

Yes it will work with all itx case Have good days

Q: How is power applied to sata drives? A female to female sata power connector? Or can I use a sata power cable from a modular power supply?

It comes with a SATA power cable witch is female to the board and female to the drive. There isn't any place on the board to plug a modular power supply cable into. Power is fed to the board from an external laptop power supply. I used this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082Y2M7KH/
