A reliable pump at a good price.
This pump is manufactured by Flint& Walling. It is a well made pump and quiet running. Water delivery is equal to my old pump, (also mfg. by F&W). My old pump was a 2 stage and this one is a single stage and works just as well. The flow control housing is made of plastic with brass inside. This a definite plus: (easier adjustment during setup). The pump comes with a very complete instruction booklet. You can easily change the voltage from 220 to 115 volts by removing 2 screws in the end cap.One word of caution! My pump came with a warning sticker on the end cap that said the pump was set up to run on 115 volts yet the sticker on the pump body said 220 volts. I removed the end cap and sure enough it was set for 220. I phoned Flint & Walling and they said that it was their fault. Someone goofed. In any case; if you purchase any dual voltage motor always check the wiring connections before starting it up or: you may let the "Magic smoke out of the motor" :)

Star JHU07 is Pre-Wired for 220V.
This is the 3rd Star pump I've had over a 40-year period of pumping lake water. Unlike the previous 2 pumps this pump was Pre-Wired for 115V, and that was clearly stated that in several areas of the installation guide. However for some reason that just DID NOT register with me until I noticed the breaker was a double-switch ... meaning 220V. When I first flipped the 220V breaker, the pump started for a few seconds and then just shut off. Fortunately the pump was smart enough to shut off and not burn itself out! I modified the panel wiring to send 115V to the pump and that fixed my problem. The pump is now working as expected.

Would not recommend this seller or product
I ordered this pump and when I received it it didn’t work. They would not replace it stating it was past the deadline and that was due to them not contacting me back. I had to buy another but they sent a pump I didn’t order and it didn’t work either and they won’t contact me back stating I’ve already got a refund on it. Now I’ve paid for 2 pumps that don’t work

Quality made
I purchased this pump as an identical replacement for the one I'm still using since 1996, which is still running fine and no noticeable bearing noise. Just in case.

a powerful water pump at a good price
This pump is powerful. It puts enough volume to our home that two showers can run simultaneously and have enough reserve to power the other items needed

Only lasted 6 months
I really hate messing with my well system. So I made a plan, I'll replace everything in the pump house and down into the well, while the weather is cool and I won't be dying in the sun working on stuff. Put in new pump (this one) manifold, pressure gauges, piping, foot, ejector and more! It's all new, so I shouldn't have to mess with it again for a very long time. This pump didn't impress me when first installed, seemed pretty weak no matter where I adjusted it to. But ya know what? Some water pressure is better than NO water pressure, so I let it ride.6 months later...the end of June, Ninety Eight degreesI find myself replacing this thing, which has gradually been reducing flow, in my favorite time of the year! Lucky me!I put in a 200$ pump from the Ace Hardware. Holy smokes, this thing rocks! Right out of the box I got fantastic flow. It's also substantially more quiet than the Pentair. It's been in a week now and I can't recall ever hearing it run. The Pentair, I heard it from 30 feet away, sometimes farther. As with anything that breaks, a person would be tempted to give it no stars. But it did work for six months, so it wasn't complete garbage.
