I’m a first time user. This dye is amazing.

I used this to make my second hand suede shoes a less intense “wine” color. Mixed this with the wine suede dye, the end result was a bit of a slightly neon pink/rose, after several layers of dye. You will want to test it if that is possible. The exact shade was not that important to me, as I got the shoes second hand. I thought the neutral dye might help for future dying projects when I just want to pump up the color a little bit.

I'll be honest - I'm not sure what happened here. I bought the blue last month and it worked perfectly. I was super happy with it. So this month, I bought the pink for the same exact material that I also needed dyed. It was a huge MESS. I did everything the same as the blue - shook the bottle, did light layers, worked it into the material in light, small circles. I gave it 2.5 days to dry before touching, with it hanging up so it didn't touch anything and could dry evenly. When I touched it again, it was a mess. There was a white film that was invading and staining all the vinyl pieces that weren't the doe suede, and touching the fabric made the dye and white film coat my hands even though it was dry. It felt awful. I had to wash my hands, wash the vinyl as much as I could (still stained in a weird white), and then I washed and washed the fabric to get out as much of the dye as I could. I'm not sure what to do now - I used most of the bottle on the amount of fabric I was dyeing, and now I'm left with a mostly-undyed fabric, stained vinyl, and almost no dye to try again. I'm assuming whatever the white they use to make the pink wasn't blending properly into the color, despite repeatedly shaking the bottle well. It looked split when I was putting it on, but knowing it was shaken well, there wasn't much left for me to do but hope it worked. It didn't.

I had a pair of once-pink boots that had faded to a dirty pink beige kind of color. They are smooth leather, not suede, but I wanted this Angelus pink over the smooth leather pink dye they have. You can use suede dye on smooth but not smooth dye on suede.Here is what I did :-Prep: Clean the leather the best you can and tape your surfaces you do not want dyed.-Apply dye and let dry. It'll have a matte look to it and a chalky texture.-Brush off excess dye. I used a boar bristle scrub brush and brushed the boots vigorously. Do this outside. They make A LOT of dust. Wiping them with a cloth is not enough.-Touch up any areas that need more dye or apply a second coat all over if you are going for a deeper dye.Reapeat brushing.-My boots have embroidery. To clean it I used rubbing alcohol. I used an alcohol pen and a paint brush to do this - I'll likely go over it again with a small brush I can scrub with. You'll need to do this with care so you don't slop the alcohol over the embroidery and take the dye out of the leather. The dye did stain the stitches but I was able to get some contrast back by carefully cleaning them.- Condition the leather and seal in your dye.Enjoy.
