Promotional Product - Not Meant to be Washed
Just FYI - that's what the tag inside says.This is a nice, sturdy tote. However, it REEKS. As soon as I opened the plastic envelope it came in, I was assaulted with this sickly sweet chemical smell, like perfume-y formaldehyde. It was nauseating. It also gave me an instant headache.But I liked the tote, and for $5.99 I figured what the hell, right? So I tried washing it. I put it on the gentle cycle, cold water with Woolite, but it still shrank...a LOT. I was expecting a little shrinkage. After all, it's canvas, but it's now at least a 1/3 smaller than it was. It went from being a "tote" to a "purse." I can still fit a magazine in it, but that's about it. It's definitely no longer big enough for groceries.On the plus side, I ordered black and it's a nice, rich color. I would have ordered more colors if it wasn't for the smell/shrinkage.
