DearKlairs EGF Serum - Blue Youth Activating Drop, 0.67 Fl Oz

This is my holy Grail product for post micro-needling skin recovery. It is soothing. It has just enough active ingredients to help boost my microneedling sessions. And it does not have anything that irritates my easily irritated skin. I did a particularly aggressive session last week that left my face red and my chest on fire and thought that I would be screwed for days but this baby had me waking up looking like I was 4 days post session. It feels great on the skin. It's a way to get some EGF and some copper peptide into your skin without being overly aggressive. I've never had to use this to repair my skin barrier outside of post micro needling but I have to imagine that if you are dealing with a compromised barrier due to other procedures, tretinoin use, or aggressive acne treatments, that this would be a godsend for you as well. It might seem a little expensive by the ounce but you only need a little bit. It's also a great way to introduce growth factors and or copper peptide into your routine before deciding if you want to commit to a stronger formulation. The blue skin cream that they make in this line is phenomenal as well. If you think you NEED this, then buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Pros: I am a huge fan of dearKlairs products and this EGF Serum has honestly become one of my favorite steps in my routine. I dealing with acne so anything that targets post blemish marks catches my attention, and this serum has done a great job helping fade some of the marks left behind after breakouts. The texture is water light and absorbs within seconds, leaving absolutely no stickiness or residue behind, which makes it so easy to layer under the rest of my products. I have combination skin with an oily t zone and this serum has been great for oil moisture barrier support since it helps keep my skin balanced without adding any extra weight or oiliness. I also appreciate that DearKlairs uses this at the front of the routine right after cleansing, since it really does seem to prep my skin and help everything else I put on afterward absorb better. The blue color comes from Guaiazulene and it genuinely does seem to visibly calm any redness or irritation I have going on, especially since I naturally deal with redness on my cheeks and around my nose. I did not notice any fragrance at all which I always appreciate given how reactive my skin can be. A few drops go a long way and it never feels like it is sitting on top of my skin, it truly sinks in and gets to work. Cons: The dropper style bottle means I have to be a little more careful and intentional with dispensing since it is easy to use more product than I actually need if I am not paying attention. I also think the post blemish mark improvement has been more gradual for me rather than an overnight change, so this is definitely a product that requires consistent daily use to really see the benefits over time.

At first I wasn’t expecting all that much from this. When I bought it I thought at best it would sooth some of my skin sensitivity and maybe reduce redness based on other reviews but it is way better than I expected. It is pretty much the consistency of water which is a little off putting at first but I find it a absorbs into my skin very quickly and it feels very silky when I’m rubbing it in. It’s not hydrating on its own but I use it as the first thing I put on my face after cleansing (then toner, essence, etc.). Since I started using this about a month ago I’ve noticed that my skin feels less irritated and my acne heals more quickly and the scars are less dark. This isn’t an acne solution, I don’t think it’s significantly changed how many pimples I get, but that’s not what it’s advertised to do. It does however speed up healing and make scarring less severe. It does seem to calm my skin and make it less red and over heated. I’ve also noticed a significant reduction in the few fine lines I have. I’m only 23 so wrinkles are not at the top of my skincare priorities but I had started to get some lines on my forehead and after trying a few different creams and seeing no improvement I had given up since my skin is too sensitive to use stronger/harsher anti-aging products but, to my surprise, after a little less than a month of using this I noticed the fine lines on my forehead are much less visible and are smoother. Overall I feel like this has improved my skin and made it less irritated and healthier. My only complaint is the packaging. Since it is a very thin, watery consistency it can be hard to stop it from dripping off your face before you put the dropper back in the bottle and rub it in. This has led to some frantic fumbling with the tiny bottle first thing in the morning. In fact the reason I’m here is to buy another bottle because I knocked mine over and nearly all of it spilled out since there’s not much to begin with. A tragedy. I’ve had the bottle for one month and I suspect it would have lasted another month or two if I hadn’t spilled it. I wish the bottle came with a spray nozzle instead of a dropper as that makes more sense for something of this consistency, in my opinion. If they must stick with the dropper then making the bottle heavier bottomed and a little squatter at least would help. I have several other products that come in dropper bottles and none are so precarious as this one. But clearly the product itself is worth the trouble or I wouldn’t be buying a new one.

Helpful fir acne marks but takes time to show results

This stuff is miraculous. Makes a HUGE difference reducing redness, calming skin, and evening skin tone. Water-like consistency, absorbs almost immediately. I use it immediately after cleansing and before other serums or creams. Blue color doesn’t stain skin. DearKlairs has earned a permanent place skincare routine! Especially fantastic for use with and after actives (tretinoin, glycolic acid, C serums) to prevent reactive skin.

I bought this because the bottle says “Blue Youth Activating Drops,” which is an extremely confident thing to put on a skincare product. Apparently the blue color comes from copper peptides. Copper. In skincare. Which means somewhere out there is a tweaker staring at my bathroom counter like he's evaluating a vacant construction site. “Ma'am, you using that serum?” Yes. “Because I know a guy who'll give you $3.40 a pound for that.” Sir, there is approximately one molecule of copper in here. “That wasn't my question.” Now I have to keep my skincare locked up because apparently my anti-aging routine has scrap value. I applied a few drops and will admit, my skin feels fantastic. Smooth, hydrated, expensive. But I'm conflicted. Do I put it on my face? Do I take it to the scrapyard? How many bottles do I need before they'll weigh it on the truck scale? At this point I'm standing in the bathroom applying copper peptides to my forehead while imagining somebody outside cutting the catalytic converter off my moisturizer. Five stars. Skin looks younger. Face now technically contains recyclable materials.

It’s a little tricky to get used to as it’s very watery but in no time, you’ll get the hang of it. 3 little drops is all you need. BUT, there are some ingredients in this that caused my face to break out: sorbitan sesquioleate , PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil , and lecithin. It’s too late to return it so I’ll have to toss it. If you’re very prone to breakouts, one or more of rhese 3 ingredients, if not all, can be a trigger.

I’m seeing results. I only use it at night. It’s a very liquid light formula and my face soaks it up. Seems like one bottle will last me months. I will keep this in my rotation. It’s not really moisturizing but it’s ok because I have other products I use for moisturize. I’m noticing a difference in my overall skin tone

I have noticed a difference almost immediately after i started to use this serum. It really works
