This light does a really nice job.
FANTASTIC! We have security cameras up and they have their own IR lights. But they don't see all that well in the grand scheme of things. This lamp adds a ton of light, easily covering our dock area, making it very easy to see our boat, dock, gate and anything in the water for up to about 120 feet. From the attached photo, you can't tell too much, but there is a marker post on the right about 1/3rd in, and some sticks poking out of the water on the far right. This was all black prior to installing the light. We haven't tested it yet, but we are confident that a kayak or similar small boat coming in at night would easily be seen. The sensor is slightly visible in the dark, giving off a faint red glow. But it functions quite well. The dusk/dawn sensor works great too. The light stays on when our main boat camera switches to color, but some of our other cameras stay in B/W mode long enough for us to verify that the IR light goes off as the sun comes up.

Great Illumination
First one out of the box, failed on me after a short time. It was replaced and I have had great luck. They have an A/C power cord instead of an a/c adapter, so you don't have to worry about losing the adapter and it does not gobble up 2 spaces on an outlet strip. The coverage is fantastic, I use it to light up my back yard in an area containing 4 cameras. It has a very faint red glow to the naked eye and switches off during the day automatically. I have wired an outlet to a motion sensor so it does not run all the time, but they are LED's so that probably wouldn't hurt it to stay on all night. Typically night vision cameras have a "tunnel" like effect at night, this makes it seem almost like daylight, and you can see much farther out than you can with the LED's built into the camera. The housing is metal and has a great bracket for mounting, the whole thing is very water proof.

Works for shining down my driveway
**update 10/19 the lights barely shine, and are now dimmer than my cameras built in IR. only lasted 6 months. I haven't taken it apart to look inside but I dont see any water on the glass. so something internal must have failed. would not recommend I have a camera aimed down my driveway. Some reviews stated it was like a spot light, and that is what I wanted. The ir on the camera only illuminates about 40 feet and the rest of my driveway is dark. This illimanates all the way to the road, over 200 feet. I provided a before and after pic, after pic still needs some adjustment to get the hot spot farther down the driveway. You may not be able to see in the picture but I can see my mailbox at night now. I'm sure I will be able to see it better once I spend some time adjusting and aiming the light, but need some snow to melt first

Was good while it worked
Purchased this IR light back in January 2021. While some people had issues with water getting into the unit, mine never had an issue with water while mounted to a rain gutter chain link down spout. It put out a good amount of IR light. It did suffer from having a hot spot in the middle of the throw but still a good IR light for the price. I will look for another long range IR light. If I get a chance, I will attach some security system pictures from the time the IR light was working. One advantage of this light is having the power conversion handled inside the unit so I could plug this unit directly into 120v

This WILL blind your neighbors security camera
I specifically bought this to blind a neighbors security camera that is pointed directly at my backyard. I tested it on our of my blink cameras, I put it on the ground and angled it up at my blink cam and it caused a full white out. The best part, I didn't have to pinpoint where I aimed it, I just aimed it at what I thought was head on and it worked even though it was off center. The best part? It made my blink cam REALLY lag and freeze. I though it broke it but didn't think it could as it's just a IR light, after waiting a minute or so, my blink cam was fine again. With all that said, I'm going to go even bigger just for reassurance. I asked a question on this also if it could blind my neighbors security cam and I received some "no" responses - don't worry, in typical internet fashion, they were wrong.

Surprisingly high quality parts let down by a crappy cord.
The first thing I did upon receiving this unit was to take it apart. I'm always wary of equipment like this, so I like to make sure it's not going to try and kill me or burn down my house when I plug it in. The good: The panel and driver appear to be of surprisingly high quality. The casing is of high quality as well, with the lens being made of a thick glass. There are also nice gaskets throughout the unit to keep it watertight. The bad: The LED driver is wrapped in non conductive tape and stuck to the inside of the case with double backed foam tape. This is not great for heat dissipation, but it does seem to secure the driver well enough, and will prevent the driver from shorting against the metal case. For some strange reason, the DC wires that plug into the LED array have their colors reversed. Red is negative, Black is positive. The socket is keyed though, so you cannot reverse the polarity, but it looks wrong. The Ugly. The Cord is made from Copper Coated aluminum, the conductors are extremely thin, and not well soldered to the driver board. This is probably what is leading to the high failure rate of the unit. The hot wire fell right off the driver board while I was disassembling the unit. Which leads me to the other shocking problem with this unit. Although the cord has a ground prong, and the case has a grounding screw, the ground wire is not connected to the ground screw. If the hot wire leading into the driver board broke inside my unit and wound up touching the case, the whole case would be charged to 110v, and lacking a ground, would shock the next person who touched it. This is excellent value for anyone who knows how to solder. I installed a new cord, connected the ground wire, and it's working great. I ended up buying 2 more units and replaced the cords on both of them as well, All 3 units work fine.

Fantastic!
I bought this about 7 months ago and mounted it over my garage pointing in the driveway to enhance the security camera night vision. It sucked! It was like this 4' X 4' of infrared. I don't give negative reviews on stuff unless it is just junk, so I just took this infrared light down and put it in the garage. Last week I had to replace security cameras in the back yard, and realized that I really didn't like the night vision of these new cameras. It looked as though the night vision was this doughnut of lighted night vision. If nothing was right in the "doughnut hole" of night vision, it wasn't going to be seen. Out of desperation, not expecting much, I put this infrared light up in my back yard to try and augment the night vision on my cameras. To my absolute disbelief, the entire field of view of my cameras was aglow with infrared! Apparently putting the light over my driveway, where there is four cars parked every night, was making the infrared reflect off the shiny surfaces, and not allowing the infrared to disperse and light up the area. All this time it was my error. Just ordered another one. Anyone who wants more night vision area for their security cameras should order one of these!

Very pleased.
They light the area IR very well and you have to actually look at night to notice them on. I have one every 40' around the perimeter The plugs on them were pretty useless since we drilled and ran the wires up through the eaves and into the attic to catch the circuit we ran for them. They were intended to supplement the IR lighting already on my cameras but they light the area so well I can't distinguish any light provided by the stationary cameras from the light provided by these. The image in each camera is lit so well the only way it appears IR (rather than flood or daylight) is the image is in BW. I have two much more powerful (Pan/Tilt/Zoom with patrol and auto-tracking) cameras on and you can see the spot lighting on them working on the outer-reaches on these lights. It's kinda cool. Reminds me of prison escape movies seeing them on the prowl and gives an added sense of security.
