iSpring WSP50J Reusable Whole House Spin-Down Sediment Water Filter, Upgraded Jumbo Size, Large Capacity, 50-Micron Flushable Prefilter Filtration, 1" MNPT + 3/4" FNPT, Lead-Free Brass

We had used the small wsp-50 Spin-Down filter for our cabin well water. It worked but got clogged quickly and would then decrease water flow to faucets. Depending on usage the small filter needed cleaning daily to several times a day. Then iSpring introduced this Jumbo spin-down filter! With this filter we have not noticed any decrease in water flow! However depending on water usage, we diligently check and flush the filter every 2-4 weeks. At end of seasonal use, we clean both the unit and filter. It is absolutely a game changer. Not only is silt gone from water but even water stains are GONE in shower. sink, and toilet bowl! Customer support also provided us a longer flush hose as the cabin well room doesn't have a drain. A big Thank You to iSpring for this brilliant Jumbo filter and an amazing Tech Support team!!!!!

The filter was pretty easy to to put in - the hardest part was how big it was. It's pretty heavy, which is actually great - it's very well-built and will last a long time I can see. The autoflusher works fine, actually enjoy the fact that it's a manual valve and this is just a motor. Means easy to fix. The best part was Nick and their support in general. He worked with me to get me the right sized filter, and getting the autoflusher even though we couldn't find a combo available anywhere. On top of that he got some gaskets shipped out to me when I was missing one. It's working in tandem with a finer filter after it, and this captures all the larger matter.

This is a great high qua.ity filter. I am in an area with terrible water issues and I got tired of always cleaning or trying to clean paper filters. with this I turn a valve and it does good self cleaning and if I do need more it is very easy to hose unscrew the housing and hose off the stainless filter and reinstall in just a few minutes. From the minute you open the box the Ispring WSP50J has a look and feel of a well made high quality product. The unit allows you to use a flushing feature that greatly reduces the need for filter replacement. I plumbed mine into a PEX line and the entire install took about 2 hours and you do need access to a drain line for the flushing process. Any consumer product is only as good as its after sales customer support. The ISPRING organization support group is outstanding! I had an opportunity to deal with 2 individuals in the support group. Nick and Sean were very patient in dealing with me answering questions I had regarding operati.on of the unit. They were extremely quick in getting back to me via email within 24 hours of my correspondence. I'm sure I made the right decision with the ISPRING filter and have a product that solved my water quality issues, will have a very long life, and an outstanding customer support group that will stand behind their product.

We had a well drilled for sprinkler purpose but our well has so much sand that has caused the sprinkler solenoids to clog up. The WSP50J filter came with a 50 Micron filter that when we ran our pump about 30 min the 50 Micron clogged up right the way. Contacted iSpring customer service (Michele) she was able to send us a 100 Micron and 200 Micron to try out. Here are some photos of our set up and comments. Picture 1 illustrates the plan for one filter with 100 Micron and the other with 50 Micron. Picture 2 illustrates amount of sands within 30 min of run-time with 100 Micron. Picture 3 illustrates amount of sediments after going through the 100 Micron and now through 50 Micron. Again, this is just 30 min of run-time. Picture 4 illustrates that we changed the drain line to garden hose and external ball valve for ease on releasing the sands and maint. One of our filter drain valve may have been damaged by the sand because the drain valve is no longer seal and start leaking water when we turn it off. It doesn’t matter which direction we have turned the valve it still leaks water. With some mod we added, the external ball valve seems to work and less costly to be replaced in the event of damaged by the sand. Note: We bent the garden hose as a loop so that the sands are trapped in the hose and not at the valve. We don’t want the filter leaking valve to cause the pressure switch and the pressure tank to be engaged and wear out prematurely. We wish the filter drain valve can withstand longer from frequent switching on/off uses. But again, this is just our well issue you may not have the same issue with your well. Bottom line is the filters are working great that we recommend to others. I have a whole house Pentel Big Blue, which is a well made for our well water filtration. However, the cost of replacing the filters every few months suggested to me that perhaps a screen type flushable filter inline and in front of the Pentel would significantly lengthen the string wound filter's lifespan. SO, I purchsed the WSP50J. It does everything the description says it would. I did have a problem with the knob that activates the ball valve after perhaps four full flushes, where it got stiff and became increasingly difficult to rotate. Contacting iSpring, their customer service rep Sean shipped me the entire base of the unit, just in case the valve itself was not the problem!!! And of course, that fixed everything. It's really easy to use, and having a filter than simply flushes sediment rather than requiring the expensive repeated changes is the huge bonus I was looking for. Thank you iSpring!!

Seems to be a well made product. Before I left this review, I reached out to iSpring through the Amazon portal, no response. Between this and the necessary plumbing to incorporate this into my well water system it was quite an investment. Unfortunately, Even when maintaining the filter, cleaning it etc. It drastically reduces my water pressure. Not sure what I'm going to do, but I plumbed it to be able to bypass it, and it is currently bypassed. Was really hoping for a limited maintenance option that will reduce filter cost, for now the standard woven filter is doing the job.

Quality product, zero issues. Combined this with a Vortech acid neutralizer and the 3 stage filter. Does take install skill, but it is perfect.
