When the seal ring broke on my V15 Detect, I was thrilled to find that I could just replace the ring and not trash the whole canister. Although my vacuum is an older model and not a Gen5, I was happy that this upgraded Gen5 design fit perfectly just the same. Plenty of replacement seal rings for sale are of the old design, which just means you'll have the same problem down the road. This new design is worth seeking out!Pro tip for installation: position the nub that holds the screw into its retaining hole first. At that point, you may think the ring is too large to push the opposite side into the canister. It's not. Place the outward facing part of the seal ring against a flat surface and then press from the back of the canister--it will take some steady pressure, but the ring will slowly seat itself all the way in. Then replace the screw and you're done! It took me about two minutes.Unexpected bonus: Wow, the suction on my Dyson was massively improved and felt like a new machine! I have to assume that before the seal broke completely, it was leaking vacuum suction over time, but I hadn't noticed. But with suction back at full power, the difference was immediately noticeable and surprising.One final note: pricing for this ring seems to be all over that place, from $10-$35. Are they different or is it the same ring from the same factory just getting rebranded by individual sellers? Who knows, but all I can say is that THIS ring works as advertised.

I looked up a video on YouTube on how to replace. It was very easy!! I usually have a hard time with this stuff— also they supplied a high quality T8 screw driver with an extra screw, that’s magnetic!! Great attention to detail where it matters for novice maintainers like me. My vacuum quite working and also needed the filter replaced since I was using the vacuum with a broken suction ring. Both came the next day, and the difference in performance—after replacing these items made it feel like a brand new vacuum again. I was back to using the vacuum in less than 5 minutes!!! 5 stars from me! I’m hoping the suction ring is an upgraded version from the original— and that I never have to replace again, but if I do, I’m not worried because it’s a simple process.

When the plastic ring holding the rubber seal in place broke, I had to replace it right away otherwise I wouldn't be able to use my very expensive vacuum. This replacement arrived quickly, was easy to insert, and fit perfectly. What's more, I have a feeling that this part will fare better than the OEM.

Installation was a breeze. This replacement is unavailable from the Dyson website. Glad to find it on Amazon. A quality replacement.

I have a V15, the part fit just fine. I would have given them 5 stars but I did not receive the screwdriver or the little screw that is said it was coming with. Luckily I save the screw off the old one & used it.
