I have to put one of my makeup drawer sets on top of it to make it stay, which defeats the purpose of the hot pad on the desk. I did knock off one star because I had left my 1 inch flat iron on for about 45 minutes before I used it. During that time the heat from the end had traveled up the silicone and made the handle really hot.
