So far so good on my Aqua Japan All in one
replaced my stock return pump that came with my 27g Aqua japan tank. I originally purchased the larger model not the mini thinking i could overkill on the flow. Turns out it was just a few mm too large to fit in the back chamber. So this review is for the smaller mini model. Have it on full blast for a night so far, all the equipment and adapters were included to make the install easy. Excited to have the feeder mode and adjustable flow in a controller. You can already tell the pump is moving water better and can see visible clarity difference for my messy cichlids

Amazing...ĵ silient immediately. Using low flow is fine.
The media could not be loaded. I honestly was not going to purchase this product because of the reviews. I went with my gut though and bought it anyway. People were dogging this product almost every review at least reviews I remembered all were negative. So either they are or were lying. Or innovative marine really fixed all the kinks. As you can see... I literally opened the box and had it installed in less than three minutes. Using slow flow... I believe it's a tetra sp140. People said you need extreme flow... I didn't, don't. Switching to an ehiem compact on 600. I'll keep you updated. Silent effective immediately. And the price. More than fair for something that will last forever? Imo.

Don't listen to the bad reviews! Great for Pico/Nano tanks!
The media could not be loaded. I just set up a new Pico tank and needed a way to create waves without a wave maker. Works with my Aqua Japan AJQ-25.Pros: I have my stock water pump on full blast flow with this attachment and it's enough to get it to oscillate round and around at a satisfying pace and flow. It seemed to have choked back the flow very little, for me it softened the harsh stream the stock return nozzle was providing to the perfect turbulence of wave for my tank. There are zero dead spots in my tank now, and the wave pattern is random each time which I really like. Baby Helmet the current surfing clownfish can still speed into the current when he wants to without looking like he's going to blast out of my tank while breaking the sound barrier. My RBTA anemone, Zoas and Firework Polyps receive just enough flow to keep them clean and sway them gently. Overall super happy with it's performance.Regarding the noise, there is a very minor hum from the one I received. I honestly never even noticed it until I stopped to take this video, you won't notice it unless you sleep in silence and your tank is in your room. It's easily drowned out by tv, fans and day to day hustle and bustle of the home. I have an air pump on another nano tank that is 1000 times louder than this thing.Cons: The opening to feed the plumbing through the wall is a bit small on my tank, so it doesn't sit nice and even with the wall as I would have liked but that's to no fault of the manufacturer. It sticks out about 1.5 to 2 inches, but I figure will be less noticable in the future once I start my vertical zoa garden on the back wall You will experience GREAT RAGE trying to put the silicone adapter on. After I stuck it into warm water and tried gently twisting and pushing it together it was much easier. Rubber tip tweezers help too! Circular motions!

Too loud, returned
The media could not be loaded. I read a lot of the reviews, many of which claimed these were not loud and worked great, and others who said these for sure were too loud. The only good thing I can say about these flow randomizers is that they make me appreciate how silent my tank otherwise runs. The second I stuck this on to my out flow, I was like "dang, I guess I got a noisy one." Knew immediately they were going back. YMMV, but no way I was dealing with the rackety noise. I'd attach a video, but not giving this app access to my phone camera and mic--sorry peeps.

Surprisingly Powerful
I didn't think Id like this as much as I did. the stream was really random and it would reach all the way across the tank.

Review
My coral thrived with this product initially and did exceptionally well. However, after about a year, it stopped responding despite regular cleaning and maintenance. Because of this, I’d rate it a three. Aside from that, it performed very well.

As Advertised—noise goes away if you are patient
These do a great job at randomizing the flow in my IM AIO 20 gallon. Look great, easy swap. I did turn up the pump’s output, but they seem to be working perfectly with the stock pump.Regarding the noise: Yes, I was surprised and disappointed at the SERIOUSLY obnoxious clicking noise these made when I first installed them. I read the other reviews: Some said the sound went away and some say it never did.I can happily say the sound DID go away after about 2 weeks. Not totally, but about 98% improvement. I can hear them, but just barely and they don’t “click.” It no longer bothers me at all. Keep in mind that my tank is in a breakfast room in between the kitchen and TV room, so it’s located in a spot where other noise drowns it out and I don’t have to hear it constantly. If it were in my bedroom or somewhere I’m looking for quietness, then I may not have had the patience.

UPDATE: 5 years in! Works very well in Biocube 14 reef and 2 gal pico reef.
The media could not be loaded. UPDATE: 2020 (5 year review)5 years and this lil guy keeps chugging away! Got quieter over time, but was never very loud to begin with. Completely covered in coraline and even with macro next to it, keeps on running. Occasionally it will hang up and snag when a turbo or trochus hangs on it, but a tiny tap put it back on track and back spinning away. Had to replace the return pump when it burned out (normal) and the new one is admittedly underpowered, but it still spins and does the job of randomizing the main flow provided by 2 circulation powerheads. The buzz sound in the video is from a crappy replacement air pump and the clicking off and on sound, is a pair of Hydor Koralia’s on a wave controller.Overall, I often forgot I even own this piece of equipment which is high praise. It does the job and I don’t have to mess with it.Original Review 2015:Works great and was able to adapt it into my 14 gal biocube reef and even my 2 gal pico reef. Works very well to randomize flow if installed properly. Did not have to change out stock pumps. Works very well and my corals and anemone love it. Very happy with this find.
