The vet told me i have a naturally fearful dog besides training does anyone think these would help with her people fearfulness?

I have a little 9-year-old rat terrier/dachshund mix dog and I adopted him from a rescue when he was 5 months old. I wasn't told that he had fear issues but he did. He is terribly afraid of people. Not a fear biter at all but would run upstairs and hide under my bed and bark whenever anyone came over to my house. I live by myself so he only knows me. I tried Prozac (from a vet) and it basically just shut down my dog so I don't recommend that. I enrolled him in obedience training and it helped him a little bit. This was about 5 years ago. Now I am doing agility training with him for about 4 years now and that has helped him a lot. He still won't go up to people to be petted but he now comes downstairs and will bark at people and then sit quietly in my lap. The obedience training really gave him the confidence that he needed. He's made so much progress. I started using this product only about 6 months ago but I didn't use it for when he's afraid of people when they come over. I use it for another strange fear that he has, he's afraid of when his stomach growls when he's hungry and he has a meltdown. I know, he's weird, all he has to do is eat and then he's fine. But I've used this and I can see a difference when he gets a little anxious. It does not make him drowsy but just calms him down so he can settle. You can try it, you don't have anything to lose since it's all good ingredients and it won't hurt him. I highly recommend training too because it helped my little guy but make sure you get a trainer who will be patient and gentle with your dog.

How long do effects typically last?

I depends, if your trying to calm your dog during, say, a fireworks display, the effects will last approximately 4 hours.  If your dog is suffering from dementia like our dog, you will have to keep increasing the amount as the disease progresses.  We are up to 4 per 24 hours now as his end draws closer.  Sam is a 30 lbs Shiba Inu/Terrier cross and without the Composure he is always trying to hide from unseen (at least to us) threats and shivers uncontrollably, pants, and drinks lots of water.   With the Composure he is calm and back to his normal self, liking to play and rough house.

what is the bite size - I have chihuahuas and found the one size larger than the silhoutte of the chihuahua - too much for small dog?
