Excellent bass for the price
Great bass period. Pre strung with decent strings, comes with a strap that i'm still using. Cord also! And a pick if you like to play bass with one (i personally don't even play guitar with a pick much) Don't love the amplifier but that's ok. It will get you playing the same day, you want a bigger one later and depending which one you go with it will sound better. That being said. This kit will get you up and running immediately, it sounds great and feels great. Ultralight, lighter than my guitars. Put a little work into it and it may end up being one of your favorite instruments. I did a few things with mine but mostly string and knob changes. Pickups are perfect, nothing needs any major changes. No regrets at all on this kit, grab one for sure if you want a good 4 string on the cheap Hope this helped!

Solid bass for the price
I've played guitars for over 35 years and recently have been practicing set-up skills on budget guitars. This is my first bass, purchased because I have found that today's entry level instruments have solid guts but the low cost means certain quality checks need to be performed by the buyer. With this Ktaxon PJ bass, that's been my experience, too. First off, it plays fine, and looks beautiful with metallic fleck finish, eggshell pick guard and fret inlays, and black tuners, bridge, knobs and pickups. Intonation and action were perfect out of box! Just had to tune it up. Comfortable weight and balance with strap. Tuners feel smooth and hold tune. The "room for improvement" areas: a few spots on the neck wood are a little rough (just a light sanding needed). Noticed a scratch at the top of headstock. Fret ends are noticeable, not sharp but could be filed a bit. The nut is cut ok for the string intonation, but looks a little bit "shoved in" to the slot on the E string side. But none of that impacts playability and are probably issues that may/may not be on every bass. The little amp is functional, not very loud but it works. The extras: Cord works, capo is fine, strap is cheap and bag is thin vinyl dust cover (wouldn't trust carrying the bass in it)...but these are all extras. Hey, you got a playable entry level bass for less than $100! The whole idea is to get you started on the instrument and upgrade/modify later. Note this is sold by Ktaxon, who often resell Glarry instruments. The "GB20" bass amp is definitely a Glarry, but mine cane minus the branding logo. Similarly,no name on bass headstock. So it's likely a Glarry undercover! Of course at this price, one can find shortcuts taken and criticize parts. You can't expect perfection. But it's a fully functional bass to get you started, and in this case, didn't need too much to get started playing.

Excellent for the price
Sounds and feels great. Not for if you’re looking for o e to last a lifetime, but definitely worth the price and ideal for beginners.

The BEST budget buy.
Honestly I'm shocked how good this is. Cons first: -There are a few small scuffed spots on parts of the body that aren't very noticeable in the first place but would definitely buff out. The polish/sanding on the beveled edge looks rushed and has some lines that, again, I think will buff out nicely. -The fretboard was DRY and the frets were a little gross. I immediately loosened the strings and went to town on the fretboard with oil and did my best to polish the frets. It looks great now! -Action was playable for me but seems high. I'm new to bass though, so I can't tell how far off it really is. -You can tell some of the hardware is pretty cheap, but what else would you expect at this price point? -Amp is low build quality. Feels cheap. Short power cable. -Cable isn't great but works. -Extremely low end accessories. Pick, capo, allen wrenches, strap, and gig bag are all bottom of the barrel but functional. PROS: -Feels great in the hands -Inlays and pick guard are tasteful in-person. -Headstock, neck, and fretboard were in pretty much perfect condition. The neck is unfinished which could be a con for some, but I'm going to modify and paint this guitar for fun. -Tuning gears feel a little light and cheap, but are smooth and tight. -Knobs aren't top of the line but shocked me with their premium feel. -Strings: Feel pretty good to me. I always change guitar strings immediately on a new 6-string guitar, but these bass strings seem fine to me! I'll change them when I feel like it to sanity check myself. -Amp works and sounds good. Pretty good volume too. Slight hum without the instrument plugged in that seems to go away once playing. Cable isn't the worst I've ever seen. -Accesories: They work! They're JUST good enough that I won't call them complete junk, but they're on the line. Summary: As someone who's dabbling in bass I'm glad I got the kit. The accessories, though cheap, cannot be had at this price point any other way, and they get the job done. With a coupon I was able to get the black one for $102 before tax. Just the bass was $90. $11 for an amp, capo, and some other goodies is a no-brainer for someone who doesn't want to fully commit to bass yet. I LOVE that is has no name on the headstock. I'd much rather have no name than a name people look down on or haven't heard of. I'm going to use this inexpensive bass to do my first custom paint job without worrying about damaging a desirable model. Maybe I'll mod or upgrade it someday too, but it sounds really good to me exactly as it is. I'm blown away that even after our dictator has ruined everything we're still able to get some cheap high quality products for now. Buy while you still can.
