I purchased this set to help me polish and finish guitars that I build. It is perfect for that application because there are areas where a full-sized 3" pad cannot reach, such as the place between the neck and the body of the guitar. Using a cordless drill, I am able to select one of the smaller foam applicators and get into those tighter places. The cylindrical pads even work well on the edges of the guitar body. By having three density options, I can match the right polishing pad to each grade of polish that I use. There is even a soft pad that helps me finish the project by waxing the surface for a professional look and feel. This set has worked very well for me. They even clean up well so they are ready for the next use.
