Does this come with soldering iron?

Does not come with soldering iron or solder. You do not need a fancy iron for this kit, just an inexpensive basic iron and good quality solder is all you need.

Where can I get another white gear? Soldering iron touched a gear and melted it.

Might be able to find another one on amazon or through the seller. count the teeth it has and measure the diameter of both the axle and the gear and you can probably search for one on here or google. hobby stores that sell rc cars might be able to help you out as well. or you can have someone 3d print you one.

Does it matter how the white leds height compared to sensor height? Do they get set flat on the board or how high off the board?

At first glance the bottom LEDs are white but in fact are red. They do sit flush with the bottom of the PCB and the height is controlled by the nut that holds the front off whatever surface you are running your car on.
