The top fits perfectly, and I use it in my Star Wars bathroom to hold cotton swabs, so not sure about using it for coffee.

This mug was bigger than I expected. Usually mugs hold about 8 ounces of liquid, this mug can hold about 12 ounces. So it is a little wider and taller than your average restaurant mug. So therefore it is a bit heavier as well, especially with the R2 head on it. As for the look, it is quite good, it does look in general markings like R2-D2 and the head is quite familiar. The head cover is a little short really, R2's head is a bit rounder and taller, but it is instantly recognizable. For me this will probably not be used, more of a collector's piece but it is completely functional. So for the Star Wars fan, it is notcomplete fidelity but it is a cute collectible that most Star Wars fans would appreciate.

I got this for my brother who works at a theme park with a specialization with "Star Wars". He got such a kick out of it that he refused to use it as a mug and it now adorns his desk instead! This little droid is really too cute to drink from (you can!) but wouldn't you rather have him to talk to on YOUR desk?????

This is a big, collectible coffee mug the looks like the R2D2 droid from Star Wars.The cup has a large 16 oz capacity. Externally, it measures 3 3/4" in diameter x 4 1/8" tall (6" with the dome). Externally, the handle is 3 1/8" tall x 2" Deep measured from the outside of the cup to the outside of the handle. The hole is 2 1/8" T x 1 1/2" W. The cup feels light when empty (even with the dome) and the handle which has rounded surfaces feels good in the hand.The bottom has a raised, circular ledge with the Star Wars logo printed in the open center.The graphics on the cup and domed top are sharp and colorful. The graphics cover all the surfaces and continue around the full circumference of the cup. The dome is very cool and features a red round dot to simulate the camera or projector.This is a nice cup that meets the descriptions and images on the webpage. The ceramic on the cup is smooth and the white is very sharp and clean. This is a great collectible item featuring a well-known Star Wars character. It would look good at home or in the office. It holds a lot of coffee, and the fitted top is perfect for keeping things warm. If you are a fan of Star Wars and are looking for a collectible decoration, this is a good one to consider. You can use it for coffee or other drinks or just put it on display. Either way, it's a great item. Recommended.
