These short straps work perfectly for small job. Strong enough to hold the items in place.

Used 2 sets of these straps to tie down 2 harley baggers in a trailer. The retractable straps are much nicer and easier to use than the traditional straps. They held up very well. Before heading out I would rock the bikes side to side, re-tighten and never had to re-tighten even on a 500 mile road trip.

I bought these to tie down kayaks ( be careful not to over tighten and warp anything) to trailer I modified to carry them. I don't trust cam style tie downs to cruise down the thruway at 65 to 70 mph for several hours. I really like the self storing feature. After cruising down the highway in the rain and several other rainy days the mechanisms didn't work as smoothly. This is why they don't get a 5 star rating, otherwise they would.I have lubed the return spring and ratcheting mechanisms with lithium spray and they are working better than new. I will be keeping them inside for the winter and using them next year when kayaking season starts back up.They make a nice neat application without the excess strap whipping around in the wind.Also the retaining clips on the hooks is also a nice feature.

These straps are a complete game changer! Once you have it tight there are no extra piece of strap that you have to worry about tying up. That cuts down on the amount of time you are securing a load which gets you on the road and driving faster

In time I predict these self retracting straps will replace all but the longest of straps. After 25 years of tangled and twisted straps I will never go back. I use them to strap my motorcycle to my trailer. SO EASY. After use they go back in the supplied bag and no tangles ever again. Oh, and the spring clips on the hooks are awesome, guaranteeing they never come off - never buy any without these. If you need a long length that is too much to fit in the roller, consider using 2 lengths of these instead of 20 feet of tangles.
