Used ias a memory battery replacement in an older chess computer, where the older original battery was prone to leakage/corrosion. Although the original battery showed no signs of corrosion, it was over 20 years old. Works great and no more worries about a battery corroding! Review: Fun and inexpensive way to explore super-capacitors! - Very nice! The super capacitors came in a nice little plastic box and I tried them out by lighting up two standard red LED in series and they stayed lit for a long time, especially with the 4F capacitor! I still don't know what the ESR of them are, but when I hooked up 4F cap to the 5V, 5 Amp power supply, the peak current on the digital display was about 800 to 1,000 mA which, if it really is the peak, would suggest and ESR of about 6 Ohms.
