Good Solid Designed Antenna - 64 Channels!
I purchased this antenna to replace a 10 year old Phillips MANT-940 that finally succumbed to water intrusion. With the climes of Florida and a couple of hurricanes I was wondering when it would eventually fail. An autopsy of the MANT-940 antenna thus revealed the water in the antenna leading to its demise. That antenna worked like a champ though for 10 years. So I checked the pingbingding anternna here on Amazon and noticed the few great reviews. Knowing that majority of tv channels available to me from:1. Past experience with the Phillips antenna2. Antennaweb.org site... that my focus should be on a UHF frequencies with the antenna farm in central FL situated in the Bithlo/Christmas area about 40 miles away would require a directional antenna in the UHF frequency range.I settled on the pingbingding HDTV Antenna Digital Amplified Outdoor/Attic/Roof Antenna. The design is based on "log-periodic antenna (LP) or (LPA), also known as a log-periodic array or log-periodic aerial, which is a multi-element, directional, antenna designed to operate over a wide band of frequencies" (per wikipedia). So its a good solid design basis meeting the requirements of a directional antenna for the UHF wide range of frequencies. I think there is only like one VHF channel in our area and I believe that will be auctioned off in the next FCC auction of frequencies so they will be converting to UHF sooner than later.I installed the pingbingding HDTV Antenna Digital Amplified Outdoor/Attic/Roof Antenna on the same mounting that my old Phillips antenna was installed on and used the existing high grade RG6 quad coax cabling. The install went without a hitch, although the one bracket that is for inclination although I tightened it down pretty tight, that if an owl or other large bird alights on it may cause it to point downward. No lock washer on that particular mount (its the part of the bracket that twists as shown in the screenshots) is provided so that is a suggestion to the manufacturer.Per antennaweb.org (there are other sites too) it shows majority of channels in a south-south west orientation and making note of the alighnment of my previous antenna did a guess on the orientation and hit it spot on the first time.I use hdhomerun ethernet based channel tuner, a Sony TV with ATSC tuner and a couple of TIvo's and rescanned and got 64 channels on the scan. I didnt have to realign the antenna at all so was lucky on the first go of it.Some hints on antenna usage and installation:1. Go to antennaweb.org.and put in your location. It will display a map of what channels may be available to you. If you have tv channels from different orientation you will have to use an omni-directional antenna. My explicit address entered into anntennaweb.org shows only getting 4 channels but my zip code shows like 16 channels being able to be received, Actual practice shows 64 channels. So your results may vary, remember this is a directional antenna.2. Use a high grade quality quad shielded cable like RG6 for your cable runs.3. Locate the amplifier as close to the antenna as possible, so your amplifying antenna signal and not amplifying line noise or interference on the cable run. The provided amplifier is built for inside use so run cable into your house or attic and put amplifier there, the amp is not intended for outside usage.4. Locate your antenna as high as you can place it. Its not heavy so a smaller satellite dish bracket will work fine. Use a compass to orient the antenna if need be but sometimes trial and error are best, with your significant other at the tv talking to you over your mobile phone as you point the antennaI have attached screenshots showing my installation and also the hdhomerun channel scan showing partial list of channels from the scanOverall this is a solid design concept and the antenna is bringing in 64 channels from about 40 miles away to me on the coast of FL. I have been favorably impressed with the performance of the antenna. Whether or not it can take long term exposure to the weather of Florida will remain to be seen but so far its a great antenna and performance is fantastic!

Antenna very good and delivers stations from 30-50mls, but amp is uselesss.
Make sure you actually need the amplifier, as i got maybe a third of the original channels i could get.Much better results using the one from my old antenna (fixed amplification output), then i get all stations i had before, but now without interference in form of signal drop or pixelation...

Great Product
this is a great product, I have tried many antennas this last year, leaf types mostly, & most a lot more expensive, nothing worked, I could get most local & PBS stations except the one my wife watches each night, to get that I had to move the antenna then the other stations went. out. Started to put this in the attic but realized it was going to be a job to get the feed into the room, so mounted on the fascia with no problem get all stations & the best HD reception to date. Like getting a new television. Would buy again. 4 stars as its new & I don't know how long it will hold up, everything OK in 1 year I'll change to 5 stars.Just got the newest version of this antenna from the vendor, last years model was great, installed the new one over the weekend, easy as I only had to disconsolate the coax & swap antennas on the mount, then reconnect the coax. The old antenna was the best I have ever owned, solved all my problems with other antennas, new is great but the last years was so good its hard to tell the difference. I can recommend this antenna without reservation, & the price is better then all the indoor / leaf types that never worked for me.

It gets far less channels in heap flat square antenna half the size. I am sad this doesn't work.
I am sad this wastes people's time. the cheap one is taped to the wall one foot away I tried spinning and rotating 5 times. 92ch with $8 with this typically half that. Almost call come in good with cheap one, not true of this. Im in America, the channel guide is europe but the frequency is very much the same, so I think these don't work as well.

Great Value
Was having trouble with my "Batwing" on my RV in my current location and the towers are withinsight, tho I have some "High-tension" lines between me and the towers... this little guy put it toshame and provides a crystal clear picture and gets me most of the channels available. Can't say much about distance as yet but I'm sure I will be putting it to the test somewheredown the road

Very poor performance, amp does more harm than good.
This antenna has very low gain. For $10, I guess that is what I expected. The amplifier does more harm than good, I get more stations without using the amp. On a weak station without the amp, installing the amp leads to no signal whatsoever regardless of the gain setting on the amp. The antenna is probably slightly better than a bent wire stuck in the antenna connector on the back of the TV. I can't recommend it.

I was getting a much better signal. If you're close enough
When I first unboxed it, I sat it on my window seat on the first floor, pointed it in the general direction of California, wired it all up and picked up nearly all stations I was expecting. First, let me say, the effort involved in setting this antenna up is so minimal. I installed it in my attic and wired it to TV. By putting it in the attic, I was getting a much better signal. If you're close enough, I'd bet you could make due with one antenna. That said, for my application, being a relatively long distance from the transmitters, I had to pick which location to point towards. CBS, Ind, MyN, Fox, Cw and PBS are ~202 degrees, ION are ~194 degrees. TEL are ~141 degrees, Azt are ~103 degrees.Ultimately, I was more interested in the Fox, so I pointed it around 202 degrees. I'm still picking up most, but not all the channels because this antenna is only for UHF.Farthest station is KTFK-DT (Digital)Channel: 26 (64.1)Network: TelefuturaMaximum ERP: 850.000 kWCoordinates: 38.239915 -121.501897I can confirm I am able to receive Effective ERP: 30.712 kWDistance: 49.8 miles Azimuth: 67 degrees Compass: 54 degrees
