With these floating around the floor my cats can always run into one of them and use them instead of the arm or back of my chair. It's well-made. It falls out of it's cardboard casing easily, but the thing that counts is that the adhesion between the cardboard slats is stellar. It doesn't break apart easily and that's what challenges the cats to scratch it instead of the furniture, though you can't go wrong with a good throw blanket either. They still need something to scratch and they will choose something. This is a pretty good thing to choose. The cost is higher than ever, but isn't that true of many things, and I should be able to say this is priceless. I can't go quite that far, but it is very close.
