Now get good speed and coverage
I recently upgraded my home network setup with the TP-Link AC1200 4G+, and I am thrilled to share my experience with this outstanding device. This router is a true game-changer, and it has quickly become an essential part of my daily life. First and foremost, the AC1200 4G+ delivers lightning-fast internet speeds. Whether I'm streaming 4K videos, playing online games, or video conferencing for work, the router ensures a seamless and lag-free experience. The combined power of 4G+ and AC1200 technology is a winning combination, providing stable and high-speed internet connectivity even during peak hours. Living out in the sticks I was lucky to get 1Mbs from my “broadband” provider, now with an unlimited SIM I am getting between 50 and 70 Mbs from a 4G signal, upload speeds seem OK to and I haven’t had any call difficulties with Teams. The setup process was a breeze, thanks to TP-Link's intuitive interface and user-friendly instructions. Within minutes of unboxing, I had the router up and running, connecting all my devices without any hassle. I particularly appreciated the WPS button, which made connecting devices even more convenient. One of the standout features of the AC1200 4G+ is its excellent range. I no longer have to worry about dead zones in my home, as the router's powerful antennas ensure a strong and stable signal throughout the house. Even in areas where my previous router struggled, the AC1200 4G+ effortlessly provides reliable connectivity. The router's management options are comprehensive, allowing me to customize and optimize my network to suit my preferences. The TP-Link Tether app is a fantastic addition, granting me remote access to monitor and control my network from my smartphone. It's incredibly convenient, especially when I need to prioritize devices or troubleshoot any issues on the go. Moreover, the AC1200 4G+ comes with robust security features, providing peace of mind when it comes to protecting my online activities and personal data. TP-Link's commitment to security ensures a safe browsing experience, protecting my family from potential cyber threats. Another aspect that impressed me was the router's energy efficiency. It's clear that TP-Link has made efforts to design a product that not only performs exceptionally but also minimizes its environmental impact. With various power-saving options, the AC1200 4G+ is environmentally conscious while still delivering top-notch performance. In conclusion, the TP-Link AC1200 4G+ is an outstanding router that has exceeded my expectations in every way. With its impressive speed, wide coverage, user-friendly setup, and robust security features, it has significantly improved my internet experience at home. I highly recommend the AC1200 4G+ to anyone seeking a reliable and high-performance router to enhance their connectivity. TP-Link has once again proven its commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction with this fantastic product.

Ultra reliable. Excellent features and functionality.
This is the third TP-Link Archer sim-based router for use on the 4G 'phone network that I've bought for coastal holiday lets over a 7 year period. Note the "coastal", as some coastal areas in the UK can have a "wandering" or weak network. So, it's important to contract with a network provider (eg Sky, Vodafone, 02 or whoever) that guarantees a strong signal where the router's being housed. If your mobile 'phone signal's ok then a data sim from that provider may suit. Given the decent signal with our provider, these routers have been ultra reliable. The few issues we've had is when guests have meddled during an internet outage (not the router's fault), for example accidentally switching the wi-fi switch off at the rear. Diagnosis for any issue is relatively easy by "reading" the light display on the front panel in conjunction with the online user guide. In terms of signal strength as mentioned above, the TP-Link router won't generally support a 4G internet connection unless the mobile signal strength (indicated by vertical bars on the left of the panel) shows as 3 bars or higher. This model is also 4G+. I can't comment on 5G signal areas the area where ours are sited currently only has 4G. The router is dual-band and "smart" in so far as it will detect and automatically connect you to either a fast 5.0 GHz wi-fi connection or a slower 2.4 GHz wi-fi connection, depending on the limitations of your device. (Note 5GHz doesn't mean it's 5G. '5GHz' is the frequency broadcast by the router. '5G' just means 5th Generation.) This router has many more facilities than we require, so do check the specification list. It may be more than some require. For our purposes it's accessible and customisable from a connected internet device (e.g laptop, mobile 'phone etc.). When logged onto it from a local device (e.g. 'phone or laptop) it easily allows the router name and log-in password to be changed from the default setting and - for example -, the wi-fi broadcast strength (and therefore range) can be set as low, medium or high. The various settings and configurations can also be accessed remotely to via the internet. Finally, the looks may not be to everyone's taste compared with some more modern and simpler routers, but the functionality is excellent. Update October 2025: This MR500 unit has developed issues this year since switching to the Sky network with low signal reception and has also required 2 sim card changes. Also, when re-set, it takes a very long time yo re-connect. By comparison, swapping it for an MR400 (still using the Sky network) from an adjacent property suggests there's a problem with the MR500, as the MR400 connects immediately with a stronger signal. However, this may be network issue.

Can replace a basic internet connection using a cheap mobile sim , dependent on location
I have been using this since May 2024 as my main internet connection in London after having ended my very basic landline connection that cost me £24pm. I have updated to the latest firmware as of November 2024 & am using a £12 pm one month contract 150GB Talkmobile sim that uses Vodafone. I am saving £12 pm as a result. I am getting quite decent results 20-40mbs download dependent on time of day and 10mbs upload ( which I never got when using the landline). I have found it quite reliable, even though where I am the signal is just 75%. You can play around with which radio band to use but I have found it best to let the router choose inspite of not getting 100% signal strength . I don't do any thing that needs fantastic speeds. Mine is the Archer MR500. I had intended to get the Archer MR600 but I made a mistake in ordering. As far as I can see there is little difference between the models. I must say it is nice not being tied to a physical land line which I never used for phone calls. I can use the sim in a mobile if I go on holiday. There is a nice so called "Tether" app that allows you test the connection speed. I have given it "only 4 *" as it would be nice to have a telephone socket. TP-Link does have one that has it this. Not really important. It is "only" 4G but as you can see from the image attached can be fine. I am not even getting 4G+ that uses 2 separate signals to double the speed, where I am.

Ottimo prodoto consigliatissimo.
