Had to replace my old Ronco and this is a decent replacement
My parents gave me an old Ronco rotisserie years ago. I believe it was one of the very early models when they were sold via Infomercials on late night TV. It was one of the best Ronco inventions that was ever sold on those infomercials! The plastic base finally cracked to the point where I couldn't use it anywhere. I had fixed it once, but the glass door would no longer stay on and was unfixable. This is one of those kitchen appliances that you think, "Do I really need this?" The first one was given to me so when it couldn't be used any longer I had to make a decision as to whether I should spend $100 to replace it. The answer was 'yes'! This rotisserie makes cooking a chicken so delicious, so juicy and so easy that I couldn't imagine just roasting a chicken in the oven, again. The spits are sharp and easily fit into the chicken and onto the gears which rotate the chicken. There is a rotisserie function or just a rotate function (without heat). My model has a dial to set the temperature (figure 15 min/lb for the chicken). The instructions say that the spits can hold two chickens but the one time I tried two chickens they were too big and didn't rotate properly. I also cooked a boneless beef roast that was around 5lbs and it came out incredible and medium rare. You can also rotisserie a small turkey. I had done that once and it was also amazingly juicy. The product comes with a base on which to put the spits after cooking so you can slice beef, but I have never used it. The pan and pan top (onto which the grease drips) is easy to clean if you line the pan with aluminum foil, first. When my food is finished cooking and I've taken it out of the rotisserie, I clean the rotisserie right away, as it's much easier when everything is hot. As the unit cools down a bit, I take glass cleaner to clean the inside of the glass that usually has grease spatters. The product also comes with rubber/vinyl heatproof gloves to use to remove the spits from the rotisserie after the food is done cooking. I think the original was built a bit better than this, but that's usually the case as years go on, companies design products to be made less expensively. Even with this being slightly less impressive than the original model, I will continue to use on a regular basis. If you like rotisserie chicken from Costco, imagine having the chicken come out JUST as juicy at home with your own concoction of rub ingredients!!

Absolutely Incredible — Cooked a 14 lb Turkey Perfectly
I am beyond impressed with this rotisserie oven. I’ve used it for both a whole chicken and a 14 lb turkey, and both came out fully cooked, juicy, and absolutely delicious. The results are honestly better than anything I’ve made in a conventional oven. The size is generous and very practical — I love that it handled a 14 lb turkey with no problem whatsoever. For a countertop appliance, the capacity is remarkable. It fits more than you’d expect and delivers every single time. The controls are refreshingly simple and straightforward. No confusing settings or complicated instructions — just easy, intuitive operation that anyone can figure out right away. Set it, let it rotate, and come back to perfectly cooked, beautifully browned meat every time. Cleanup is also a breeze, and the multi-purpose basket opens up even more cooking possibilities beyond rotisserie. This oven truly does it all. If you’re on the fence about investing in one, don’t hesitate — it is worth every single penny and has completely changed the way I cook.

Another fine RONCO product
Since I once had one of the original RONCO machines that I bought after viewing on the TV Mr. Popeil's infomercial and that original machine lasted me for a good 20 + years, I did buy another infomercial airfryer product from another company and after trying it out, I was not satisfied with it and so, I went back onto the Amazon website after doing a search via my browser after discovering that Amazon had for sale RONCO products. I ordered both this model (nothing lasts forever, right?) as well as the digital version. The only improvement I would like to see in this machine type of for the cogged gear drive is for it to be a bit longer so that the spit wheel teeth engage the gear teeth is the middle of the gear vs. the actual position of the wheel teeth-to-the-cogged gear that puts the wheel teeth plate right up against the small gear flange attached. My original RONCO machine positioned the wheel teeth to the cogged gear in the middle which to me seems to be a better choice overall since the weight of the wheel is in the middle of the gear and not at the very end, which from my perspective, places more mechanical strain on the driving shaft inside of the cogged gear that in turn causes more mechanical strain on the motor itself. Since after placing the chicken mounted to the spit assembly into the unit, I did not realize until after a few minutes that the wheel teeth now must now have to sit on the gear drive right up against the small flange vs. how the old style wheel teeth sat on the driving gear which was in the middle of the gear. Other from this explanation of my perspective unit improvement, the new machine has a much slower spin vs. the original unit rotation. But despite this difference, the chicken was thoroughly cooked. This unit is a bit wider than the original unit and it has a second spit assembly position inside the machine that is for use when one uses the basket as the included manual explains the reason for this added position. I like the fact that the heat shield is removable vs. the original that had the shield fixed in place and could not be removed. The drip pan is wider and I like the silicone mini-strap that hold the glass door closed when one is moving the unit. But my dishwasher is unable to accept it due to how large it is. If you decide to buy one of these units, you will not be disappointed!

Perfect!
This rotisserie will cook meat up to 12 pounds. It is exceedingly simple to operate, it is quiet, it cooks well and evenly, and it is easy to clean. I have cooked in this a number of times now, (chicken, ham, ribeye roast, and turkey) and I have been pleased each time. If you are thinking of getting a rotisserie, I would highly suggest this model and brand. It is fairly compact, and I was able to set mine on top of my microwave.

Great Rotisserie!
It turns very slow unlike the original one I had but it browns the chicken OK. You should read the instructions as it has 2 settings A&B and some other changes. It seems to baste the chicken fine and cooks quickly. I am still nervous about the motor and hope it doesn't give out. So far so good and I enjoy having a larger rotisserie so my prime rib can easily fit. When I first used it the light flickered but it stopped after 15 minutes? Works fine now. I thought they were out of business so jumped on buying it.

Don't purchase
Spit rod assembly collapses on the left side. It's happened every time I've used it since I purchased 3 months ago. After turning off and starting over 5 times today I gave up and put the chicken in the oven. It's going to Goodwill.

Nice Rotisserie
I bought this to replace the original Ronco Rotisserie I bought 20 years ago, which I absolutely loved and used all the time to make the most delicious meat and poultry. That original unit was my "go to" cooker for whatever meat I was making and I truly loved it. When that unit finally died I didn't even know if they still made it and was very happy to see it available on Amazon. I ordered it immediately and am as happy with this unit as I was with my original unit. It did take me a little while to get used to the much slower rate that the meat rotates when cooking, but everything I've cooked has come out just as delicious as the meat cooked in my original unit that had a much faster rotation. The instructions mention that this slower rotation rate is actually a more efficient speed than the older faster rotation rate and based on the meat I've prepared in mine I believe them. This unit also enables you to very easily remove the rear heat shield (behind the heating coil) after each use for cleaning. the shield simply slides in and out very easily. I also like the fact that the interior light remains on while the meat is rotating/cooking..... this allows me to visually see how the meat is cooking. The front glass shield/door is nicely curved outward and easily comes off the unit for cleaning and the elastic/plastic retaining loop that slides over the glass cover grip handle in the upper right corner very nicely keeps the door securely closed so you don't have to be concerned about bumping into it accidentally and having the door come slamming open/down. The other nice thing is that the accessories that I had for my original unit (shish Kabob skewers, clamp together meat/fish cage) both fit this newer unit and operate well. Can't think of anything else to report except that I'm really happy I was able to replace my old rotisserie with this one.

FANTASTIC CHICKEN!!!
FANTASTIC!!! I have used this twice so far to rotisserie a whole chicken. WOW...the chicken was crispy on the outside and super juicy and tender on the inside, amazing. The pictures are of a 3-1/2 pound chicken after an hour. I cooked it for a little over 2 hours and boy was it beautifully brown and crispy. ****Here is a great tip for whenever you rotisserie anything, cover the drip pan with 2 pieces of tin foil. One piece going across one way and the 2nd piece covering the other way. NO MESS or any kind of clean up. Just pick up the foil and throw it away.**** Enjoy!

110 volt appliance
The online advertisement didn’t mention that the appliance was US voltage specified. Kind of crazy considering that the item was being delivered to the UK. Because it’s a high power consumption rotisserie I had to spend £120 on a suitable transformer before I could use it. No negative comments about the appliance itself but I certainly wouldn’t have bought it if I had understood it was only suitable for US electric power.

Not eu standard
Jag har använt rondo rotisseriet i Kanada i 20 år och var mer än nöjd med den. Tyvärr passar inte den här modellen och kopplar inte till svensk 220V och kontakt utan omvandlare. Den kommer från USA för 110v.

Rôtisserie Show Time Ronco 5500series
Demande plus d'attention pour le placement du panier sur l'engrenage de la motorisation. L'ancienne version était plus juste. Pour le restant, c'est super comme four.
