Just as expected! This was a present for my grandsons 7th birthday! Loved it! Asking for something like it for Christmas! Easy to use’ great value! Afternoon of fun and then still has the gems that he plays with.

They big loved this project. Stones were smaller then I thought though.

Did this ad an activity with a group of kids while camping (ages 1.5-8). We had a scavenger hunt where the kids had to find the purple rocks, then got to dig out the gemstones. Minus 1 stat because it was so hard to dig the gemstones out. But nice that the purple stuff on the outside is just chalk. It made a huge mess, but chalk is easy to wash away. The babies had fun just drawing on the ground with the extra pieces of chalk. But even the bigger kids were getting frustrated that it was taking 30+ minutes to dig out the gemstones. They started just chucking them at the ground to break them open. The adults ended up having to do most of the digging. I do really love the cards that came with the set though. The kids (and adults) loved learning about each gemstone.

Did these for our daughter's birthday and they were a hit! Small but fun!

These were fun! I recommend soaking in water for a minute or two before digging to make it easier. You could tell which gems were which!

I bought these for my tutoring students. We were studying paleontology and dinosaurs! The kids love digging th out and looking up information about tue fossil. Not a huge mess. I put on a paper plate and let them go to town!

These were great for goody bags. Stones were smaller than expected so make sure not to gift to anyone who puts things in their mouth still.

These were fun for a party. Kind of hard to use the little instrument provided... to crack open, but you can use practically anything. The gemstones are really nice.

The children in my class had so much fun doing these! Be prepared to clean up lots of purple dust, but it’s worth it!!

These are adorable! Our 2 year old recently celebrated her birthday with a Snow White theme. These were purchased as a loot bag item (to symbolize the 7 dwarves being miners, duh). I love that they came with the tools to go with each gem. They’re individually wrapped so that was convenient as well. The kids all sent pictures of their finds and everyone had a blast digging them up. Even if not purchased with the intent to disperse amongst multiple kids, these would be perfect to keep on hand for rainy days, camping trips, cottage weekends.
