I’ve used a fair few knife sets, but this Ninja Foodi set is a massive step up in terms of build quality and design. The knives have a nice weight to them and feel very well-balanced in the hand, which makes a big difference when you're doing a lot of prep work. Bought this set and am really pleased with it, the knives are sharp and easy to use and having a knife sharpener built in means they stay shapp without any effort at all. Rather big unit but is worth it

Been using these knives for a few weeks now and they are top quality and extremely sharp. I have purchased cheaper versions before that have quite frankly, ended up being disposed of. These are of course more expensive but you certainly get what you pay for.

Even though I used to work in catering, at home I have always been happy with "good enough" knives. Pop down to Homesense and pick up a block for £30 or so and replace them every few years. So spending this amount of money on a set of kitchen knives was something I am not used to, but decided to anyway as a treat to myself. Opening the (very substantial) box and quickly testing the utility knife on a piece of fruit, I was shocked about how sharp it was. Even in my catering days I can't remember any of the knives I used passing through an orange so cleanly. Almost like it wasn't there. So the knives are all great and the knife block also feels sturdy, especially with the suction feet on the base. Haven't yet tried the sharpener, but I would assume it does the job it is supposed to. So why only 4 stars and not 5? Aesthetics. Specifically of the handles, but also of the block. Firstly the handles. They ALWAYS look dirty/dusty. When I unpacked it I assumed they were covered in a fine layer of dust from manufacturing/packaging, so tried to wash them straight away in warm soapy water. Nope, they still looked dusty (and not even an even layer of dust). Ran them through the dishwasher, the same. This is no way affects the usage but when the sunlight hits the handles through the kitchen window it annoys me every time. I realise this is a design choice by someone at Ninja.... I just wish they used a different material that delivered a cleaner-looking finish. Especially for a product at this price. The other annoyance for me is the knives sitting horizontally and not vertically. It feels awkward trying to get a knife back into the block, while trying not to stab and scratch the chrome-effect surround, and it also means the handles never quite line up properly (those aesthetics again). Also, my left-handed wife seems to have more trouble than I do, but that may just be her getting used to it. So in conclusion, great knives that aren't quite as elegant as I want them to look.

Complete with a built in sharpener the storage block is super sleek and smart enough to have on display in the kitchen Honestly we didn’t realise how bad our old knife set was… we’re not master chef standard but more hobby chefs! Purchased during the recent prime deal day we got a very good deal and they were much cheaper than buying directly from Shark Ninja

After accidentally leaving my beloved Global knives behind in Ireland when moving back to England, I found myself adrift and knife-less. I know some people enjoy the ritual of sharpening, but for me it's pure admin. I hate it. And don't even get me started on flattening whetstones with a leveling stone, it's just not my idea of a good time. So thought I'd take a punt on this Ninja knife block with integrated sharpener. I already own a small army of Ninja appliances and love every one of them, so this felt like a safe bet. The knives are solid, well balanced, and satisfyingly weighty, genuinely worthy replacements for my much missed Globals. They came razor sharp out of the box and, crucially, they hold their edge brilliantly. The built-in sharpener is so convenient, and is just perfect for someone who hates manual sharpening as much as I do. A few swipes and you're back in business; no stones, no soaking, no faff. You can also replace the sharpening wheel, which they recommend you do every two years to keep it sharpening your knives as effectively as possible. They're also excellent value for money, especially compared my old Globals. Also, I clumsily sliced the top of my thumb off in the first week. Guess my muscle memory isn't what it used to be. 10/10, would buy again. 🔪✨
