BLACK+DECKER Pet Hair Remover, Roller, Remove Dog Hair and Cat Hair Easily (HMSCT0001)

This thing is amazing. My mostly white cat really favors one of my dining room chairs to perch on. I've tried in vain to vacuum off the cat hair or use other methods. Some would come up but not all. I decided to give this one a try because it seemed to be the same as another popular one but costs about 40% less. It is a game changer! It got all of her hair off, and it was easy to clean out of the back bin. Now I need to go around and do the rest of my house! The only thing I would say is that it's pretty big so wasn't great around small/tight spaces. They should make a mini one.

I am not sure who owns the original patents on all of these similar and useful hair/lint removal tools, but there seems to be many companies that make different versions of this same exact product at various price levels. For instance, I also own the "Chom Chom" version of this hair/lint removal tool, and it works very well. However, there are certain aspects of this Black & Decker hair/lint removal tool that make it even better than the Chom Chom, and other similar products like it, including the much lower price. Also, as is true with the Chom Chom hair/lint removal tool, this B&D version also works as advertised IF it is used correctly. We mainly use this B&D hair/lint removal tool to clean up the hair left on the bed and furniture by our constantly shedding Sable German Shepherd. It does indeed work really well for that purpose. This B&D hair/lint removal tool also picks up little pieces of lint off of the furniture very well. However, just like the Chom Chom, this B&D hair/lint removal tool is NOT going to vacuum the entire house by itself, so don't expect miracles from it either. This B&D hair/lint removal tool is designed to be used in short back and forth strokes, and not long rolling motions, as the hair collector bar does not turn 360 degrees (it flips back and forth). The hair collector pads are designed to collect hair and lint by building up static electricity through friction, and then the squeegee deposits the hair and lint into the easy to empty storage compartment. If this B&D hair/lint removal tool is used in one long continuous direction/motion it will not work correctly, and I am quite sure that is where the few negative reviews are coming from. Also, as specifically stated in the included instructions, this B&D hair/lint removal tool is NOT designed to be used directly on humans or pets. It is not a sticky clothing lint roller or a dog/cat brush. The instructions also specifically state that this B&D hair/lint removal tool will not work on hard or smooth services. It needs some friction from rough furniture material in order to build up static electricity on the cleaning pads. As I previously stated, this B&D hair/lint removal tool does work very well IF it used as directed. Just don't use it for unintended purposes, and then leave a bad review because the instructions were ignored or not read at all. In two separate reviews, I am giving this B&D hair/lint removal tool 5 stars, while I previously gave the Chom Chom 4 stars, for several reasons. While both devices do work well, and in the exact same way, this B&D hair/lint removal tool seems to have addressed all of the short-comings that plague the Chom Chom. This B&D hair/lint removal tool has a thicker ergonomic handle, which makes it more comfortable to use. It also has an opaque purple storage compartment cover, which allows the user to tell when it's getting full. Also, this B&D hair/lint removal tool has a much more secure latch on the storage compartment door, so the door does not inadvertently pop open during use like the door on the Chom Chom does quite often. However, the best aspect of this B&D hair/lint roller tool is that it is nearly half the price of the Chom Chom, and many other devices just like it. In conclusion, I highly recommend this B&D hair/lint removal tool, as it does work very well for cleaning pet hair and lint as advertised, IF it is actually used correctly. The lower price makes it even better than the other products in this category that work just like it. For those people that have constantly shedding pets, I suggest picking up a few of these great B&D hair/lint removal tools to keep around the house and car.

This is a lifesaver. I've been looking for something to pick up cat hair off my sofa and this works perfectly. Yeah, you can get an arm work out with this going back and forth, but it definitely picks up the hair unlike the the other thing I have that looks like a scraper. I would recommend anyone to get this product if you're on a budget.

This roller functions like a velvet roller, but has two rubber stoppers that force the center velvet roll to stop, and the edges of the containing tube scrape the lint and hairs off the roller into the center chamber. This means you aren’t sitting there picking hairs off your lint roller by hand or trying to find the end of the sticky paper to throw away. This roller got hairs off my rug, which is vacuumed at least 3 times a week, that have probably been there for YEARS. It got hair off the cat tree that vacuums and tape couldnt grab. Holy crap, absolutely life changing. I wish I’d had this years ago. Genius engineering and absolutely functions at the top of the line with no electricity, no waste, no fuss.

Love this! Hair pickup is spot on, my dog sheds like crazy everywhere! I can clean my couch with one to two passes, and it works great! Remember short strokes cause it uses friction to pick up the dog hair. No more charging and recharging due to batteries dying mid clean. Material, love the button to open up the cannister when it's full. Keeps me mindful it's there so I don't keep bumping it open. Material and size worth the money you spend on this. Great value for the money! Get you one......

I’m honestly impressed with the Black + Decker Pet Hair Remover Roller. It removes pet hair from my couch and throw pillows with very little effort, and it picks up so much more hair than I expected. As a bonus, it also collects dust from the fabric, leaving everything looking cleaner and fresher after just a few passes. It has quickly become one of my favorite cleaning tools around the house. The quality is excellent, and it feels very well made. The roller is sturdy and durable, so I can tell it’s built to last. The handle is also comfortable to hold, making it easy to use and control while cleaning. It glides smoothly and makes cleaning much faster and less frustrating. For the price, this pet hair remover is absolutely worth it. It performs exactly as advertised and saves so much time compared to other lint rollers or brushes I’ve tried. Hear me out: I’m a super neat and tidy person who introduced a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy into my life three weeks ago. The sudden influx of hair has been hard on my heart, and I have purchased: 1) an inexpensive hand vacuum, 2) a sheet and bed vacuum, followed by a 3) a Dyson hand vacuum after both of those failed, 4) sticky sheet lint rollers, 5) a silicone “fur remover, and 6) this manual pet hair remover. Out of hundreds of dollars of cleaning products and devices, this manual hair remover is the most effective, followed closely by the Dyson. I’ve not had a single issue with compatibility on any of the many different fabrics I have throughout my home, and it has remained snag free on every surface. I did a once over on my couch and ottoman, and it picked up so much fur and dust! There is a slight learning curve, which was my fault for not reading the instructions… you have to swipe the roller up and down quickly in both directions for it to actually work and pick up the debris. My expectations were so low, and was pleasantly surprised with how effective this is. Anyone in my life that has a dog or cat? I’m adding this as a present going forward. Every pet owner needs one of these in their home. I have thin sheets, and there were no issues with using the device. Pulled the top sheet tight in sections when going over my bed. Worked fine to lift fur off of my duvet and pillows as well, and my bathroom rugs. Appearance-wise, I’d love it if it wasn’t purple, but that’s just a nitpick. I’m simply delighted with this little tool, and will be purchasing a backup.

This product is great!! I’ve been looking for something to help with dog hair from my German shepherd/husky. I tired a different one from petco and tried it on my couch and it didn’t do a thing but this one??? Amazing!! Got all the hair up, hair that was embedded for a long time. Worth the money!!

If you have a cat or dog, you need one of these. Picks up pet hairs ridiculously well - so much better than anything I've used before. Emptying a (full) stash of hair and fluff from a compartment is a lot different to washing a sticky slab or throwing away matted paper. Think of it as a green vacuum, of sorts. Very happy with this product indeed. Will definitely buy another.
