I usually use the 2 part lids (and rings) or the white screw on lid. I wanted something a bit classier which would hold up under use. I really like these, I get lots of compliments on these..they pop into place, they don't screw on so they are easy to get on and off. I think they are beautiful...of course they are only for storage and not for 'canning' although I can see giving someone a nice canned item with this lid to use once they opened up the 2 part lid. I wash these by hand and don't put in the dishwasher.I will buy again for sure.

I was influenced. They're cute, and they actually do fit the top of a cut bottle of wine, but they are stupid expensive - I think they cost more than the actual jars. The seal isn't like airtight, I don't think, but it won't just fall off. If I put this in my bag, I would trust a jar of cheerios, but not a jar of water.

Very nice! The wood is smooth and of good quality. I started using them right away for things that I open often from my large canning jar storage system on my open shelves in my tiny 1924 Bungalow kitchen.

These lids are quite decorative and less functional. I make my own coffee creamer, in 8-12 oz batches. I like to store them in the refrigerator in 8oz ball jars, I thought I would get some lovely lids and they are lovely, looking.This morning when I went to take the lid off the wood came off and the plastic stayed in the jar. Its a minor thing, however I would not like to have to have a two part process to get to my creamer. They do not seem to be leak proof.if you want to store dry goods on the counter and have a nice presentation then these are for you, not for me. The plastic part cleaned up fine not great.

Smaller diameter and thinner than our ball wood lids. I was shocked when I first saw them - thought they sent the wrong size. However: they fit perfect on the jars. For aesthetics: I actually prefer the thinner lids. I also like that they aren't branded. Just me.LEAKS? I filled a quart mason jar half full and tested for leaks: none.The only thing I noticed is the flange is a wee bit thinner. At first thought, this was a concern.The flange is the part of the lid that takes the brunt of abuse from opening and closing. Though semi transparent they still seem fairly strong.Although not quite as thick and strong as on the ball lids.The thinner flange allows them to fit deeper into the jar. So that the wood meets the glass.With the Wooden Ball lids the flange prevents the wood from meeting the glass. It pushes the lid up a smidge so you can see the gasket. Since the side is what I always see, that makes the knock off lids the winner.

Some of my other lids got rusty spots on the underside and coating had come off. I saw these and thought they’d be perfect. I wouldn’t say you could use for canning but they are a great seal alternative. Not strong enough to pick a full jar up by the lid but that’s ok.

They're not bamboo, they're basic pine wood. Even advertised as acacia wood
