I have had this item for years and love it!I have several dietary restrictions so I use this almost every day. The evening before, I fill the inner container with leftovers to take to lunch the next day.The next day, I plug it in as soon as I get to work (7:00 AM) and it is ready to eat when I need it (but at least an hour later). I’m a special education teacher so I don’t have 1 long lunch time, but have to eat during small times throughout the day. I leave it plugged in all day and eat when I am able. The food does not burn and is hot all day. I’ve purchased one other lunch- warmer product, and the food all burned within an hour of plugging it in. This crock pot product is my favorite!I purchased a second crock pot warmer only because I needed the inner container (I lost the lid for my original one). But that works well because then I leave 1 warmer at home to use on the weekends and 1 at work.I do wish it was possible to buy the inside container and lid separately. Though, a tip, if you lose the lid you can just use aluminum foil.After at least 5 years, the warmer lot won’t screw on anymore so I will purchase another for that reason, but even with the lid not screwing on, it still warms my food just fine.

This is a brilliant little invention. I cannot tell you how much I love this thing. No more waiting in line for the microwave in the breakroom at lunch time. Turn this baby on when I arrive and lunch it piping hot by noon. Cleans up really easily, I've never had anything stick too badly, even after heating it up numerous times. For me, the "max" line is a bit much food, but my sister (who owns one also) says it's not enough for her, so people with big appetites might find it a bit small. Also, if you are carrying soup or other very wet items, be careful of the top lid of the metal insert, it doesn't have a super tight seal, and sometimes if it gets tipped over, it'll spill.

I had to check some of the other reviews to see why on earth someone gave this less than 5 stars. I am a teacher and this is a great lunch solution for me. I am lucky if I have time to chew and swallow my food, but definitely don't have time to microwave food for 10 minutes! I can "pack" my lunch with leftovers the night before. The inside container and lid come out of the Crock-Pot. I plug the Crock-Pot in when I get to school and have hot food when it is time for lunch. I found that with soup, it gets very hot so sometimes I unplug it a few minutes before I eat. I have also heated some casseroles, rice with shredded BBQ or chicken, chili, pasta, etc. You don't need to check anything or stir anything. There are no heat settings - I believe it is meant to warm already cooked foods, but it does a super job! I have not had any issues or trouble getting either lid on or off. I do not try to take the inside container out while the food is hot. (I do wrap the cord up after I unplug it.) Yes, it does only hold a little over 2 cups, but that is usually enough and I am lucky if I can eat that much during my lunch "break." If you are looking for something to heat your lunch for you with no hassle, I think you will like this Crock-Pot!
