I can finally make my own bubble tea
The packaging arrived wrapped in sturdy bubble wrap and the almost all of the tapioca pearls were completely intact! Here's how I prepared it: 1. For every cup of dry pearls, use 10 cups of water (so for 1/2 cup use 5 cups of water, and so on). 2. Make sure the water is boiling before you pour your pearls into it, otherwise it might completely disintegrate into powder! 3. Add the pearls slowly into the boiling water just to make sure they dont stick together. 4. Once the pearls start floating to the top, lower the heat and let them simmer for at least 20 minutes (I usually leave them simmer for 30 minutes) 5. Afterwards, take the pot off the heat and leave it covered for 30 minutes for the pearls to rest. 6. Afterwards strain them and immediately add them to any form of sugar syrup and miz them in to ensure they dont stick to each other. (I use date molasses, but I suppose you can use honey, maple syrup, or even make your own syrup by boiling water and brown sugar.) 7. Either use them right away, or cover them with plastic wrap and store them in the fridge. However, the longer you let them sit after you're done cooking them, the more you risk them becoming slightly hard in the center. If that does happen, I usually keep them in the syrup and place them in the microwave for 20-30 seconds and they soften again. You can afterwards add them to your drink, I usually add them to sweetened milk tea served with ice. Again, it's best consumed right away, the longer the pearls sit in the drink, the more likely they will start becoming slightly hard. Prepearing them isn't the easiest thing, but if you really enjoy bubble tea, it'll definitely be worth it.
