relief pain
This is the second one I bought the first was a medium size and to adjust tightness the velcro barely reached and the material at thumb was to tall covering thumb. I reordered a small before returning the medium to see the difference. I got the small today and fits perfectly. I will keep the medium to use at night or as a spare when I wash the small one. I had to take the shank out of the medium one because it rubbed on thumb below bone by wrist. Didnt make a big difference on restriction of thumb but felt much better. Not sure if I will have to on small size if it will rub but probably will. Over all the brace is great and does relieve pain. It is cumbersome but comes off easy enough to wash dishes or what you need hand for. To not have the pain is worth any hassle. The brace is made really good. My hand is not big thought about medium for a women but small works much better for me. I did get the smaller brace and have worn it several days. I don't think I will have to take the shank out of thumb area on this like I did on the medium size. For me I really like it and I think some swelling has gone down below my thumb bone by wrist. I had surgery on my left thumb 20 years ago and they took out my bone below the thumb so for now I will wear the brace.

Almost Perfect.
My problem: I have a combination of De Quervain's and Tendinitis in my wrist so its extremely important for me to have my thumb locked down as much as possible, and to prevent ulnar deviation and radial deviation of my wrist. (Bending the wrist to the pinky side, and the opposite thumb side) My search for a replacement brace: Since the brace my doctor gave me died a gruesome death, I have searched high and low for the perfect brace. I've tried the universals, laces, BOA closure systems, and all of them had some issue or another. Comfort was the biggest issue I was trying to find a solution for, but some of these braces actually caused me pain from jump street. For example, where they tighten just happened to place enough pressure on my tendon and made the brace absolutely useless, or once I secured the straps or laces as much as I could, it still allowed movement, etc... Then I found BraceAbility. This thing is absolutely perfect for me. It locks down movement where I need it, and its comfortable as hell doing it. Its also washable which is HUGE. The only thing I would advise you watch out for has to do with their sizing chart and velcro. When I measured my wrist, I was coming in line with their Medium. I bought it, and found that I needed my wrist more securely fashioned and was running out of velcro. Imagine having a ton of receiving end velcro, but the velcro strap that you pull to tighten and secure had only a sliver of it left to attach to the receiving end. Thus making the thing come loose every few minutes. I exchanged it for a Small, and even though that velcro issue from the previous size is still present, it now allows for a secure closure which I couldn't get before. So long story short this thing is awesome, its super comfortable, and I feel my wrist and thumb are secure. I only caution that you may have sizing issues, and depending on how secure you need your straps there might be an issue with not having enough velcro to get a good snug close.

Hard to adjust
This brace is just what the doctor ordered! But I have two problems that cause me to reduce the star rating I gave it. One is that I cannot adjust the straps properly. Due to the way they are made, I either have to pull them too tight or leave them too loose. Someone with larger or smaller wrists/arms would not have this issue. The other problem is that the stitching around the thumb piece presses my skin when I have the brace on tightly, leaving an indentation that takes a while to go away. That said, the brace is protective and helps to stabilize the joints when I am busy or sleeping.

Best purchase ever!
My wrist brace that I’ve been using for awhile worked just fine until my thumb started giving me an issue so I had to go on a search for another brace but with thumb support as well. My first thoughts while searching for a new was oh no, how many am I going to have to buy this go around before I find the perfect one for me. I spent many hours looking for one, with reading all the info that was displayed on each one that might work for me and reading all the reviews. Each brace I liked and felt would work to my cart and started over again reading all the info again but this time process of illumination until the last one remaining in my cart was this brace. I don’t regret doing it that way because I love this brace so much. It’s extremely comfortable with the extra cushion that you usually can’t find in these wrist braces. I now have the correct support that I needed for my thumb and seems to be helping me a lot more than with my wrest than my old brace was helping. One of my best decisions ever on purchasing an item. If you’re looking for a brace that gives thumb and wrist support this is what you need right here. The brace does exactly as described along with the cushion and softness.

Exactly what I needed
I hurt my wrist and needed some support and came across this one on Amazon that looked like a good quality brace. I read the sizing guide and followed it. I have average to large hands, but based on my wrist size, I ordered a small and it fits very well. If you order it too large, the straps won't be able to fasten well, which is one of the complaints I read in the lower scoring reviews. The straps have Velcro that folds over onto itself. If the brace is too large, the straps will not work correctly. There are Velco strips sewn into the brace, but the straps are the same material on the ends, so they won't stick there. I think the design could be made better in that respect, but getting the right size will go a long way in making the brace comfortable and useful. I can't comment on durability since I just received it. I work at a computer, so it will get minimal abuse, but it does feel well made and durable.

The straps are very annoying
It’s very comfortable and works very well except that the straps are incredibly frustrating and aggravating. The place where they secure is so small, that the rest of the strap hangs out awkwardly, even if you cut them off, they still don’t have enough room to attach well. I am forever being scratched by the ends. It’s such a simple thing and really too bad because otherwise it would be great.

Best Pain Management!!
Almost did not purchase this because of so many negative comments about the straps. Yes, they are long, but I just trimmed them (made a rounded edge instead of straight across) with scissors as suggested in the instructions and now the fit is ideal. I have purchased three different types of wrist/thumb braces over the past eight weeks and this one is by far the best! It’s a bit cumbersome for daytime use, but it is the ONLY one that keeps me out of pain! Highly recommend!!

Well made, comfortable and supportive.
Having fit people with splints as part of my career, I was very pleased with the quality of this Thumb Spica splint. The stays can be removed to be adjusted. Supports the thumb and wrist well. Very good option for DeQuervain's stenosiing tenosynovitis and other conditions of the wrist and thumb.

2 months of use and it wore off
It supports my left thumb and wrist but the fabric tore after 2 months. I had another one but that one had lasted longer..
