It is not considered a carcinogen. Benzethonium chloride is safe. Benzene (odor eaters, old spice, secret, etc.) is a carcinogen, not to be confused with benzethonium chloride. **Q: Does the new version absorb sweat as good as the old version?** A: It does, and its less messy, however , for me, the can often had spraying issues. So much so I had to throw a full can away. Been using it consistently for about a year now and it really helps you feel fresh after a shower. The only thing I HATE is the can its in. It’s so hard to spray. The last couple weeks I’ve almost quit using it and going with a different brand because of how hard it is to spray. My finger always hurts from using it after and most of the time I can’t even get a good amount out.
