A: It’s quality hard rubber, so it’s thick. But no thicker than normal rubber spatulas.

**Q: Will the handle melt? I have an oxo spatula whose handle is made of plastic which melts if rested on the edge of a hot skillet. Have they fixed this?**
A: The photograph of the spatula looks different from the one I have, which has a green handle. I've found the green plastic area does melt if it touches the hot skillet.

A: Yes, this spatula is heat resistant.  It's perfect for flipping pancakes and eggs.
