A suspenseful continuation to the series
This was a good continuation to the series. Julie you're writing is getting better, but a little more description of characters and aliens and such would be greatly appreciated. Definitely suspenseful and action-packed and we are left with many Cliffhangers. There are one or two things that don't quite add up , but that's okay. I eagerly await the next book. And thank you Julie for continuing for your father keep it up, you can only get even better. I look forward to reading more of your writing.

Excellent Continuation
I had not known the original author had passed away. I feel lucky to have the series continue under the apparent skilled hands of his daughter who picked up the characters and plotlines without hardly missing a beat. Perhaps a few characters have been dropped by the wayside but I would be nitpicking. The story has expanded so much as the war has gone galaxy-wide and the current author has done a good job in keeping it tight and contained. For this book specifically, I enjoyed it greatly. We get at least a small update on nearly all characters but the main galaxy-wide (world building) plot, as it is driven by the main protagonists, is profoundly advanced here. A couple of twists are revealed which leave you waiting for the next book as well as the impending apocalyptic battles. Setbacks take place for both sides as everyone attempts to outmaneuver the other in a high stakes match of chess. Each side is learning the abilities of each other's fleets and is acting accordingly with what they have on hand to counteract their opponent.I highly recommend this book for the fans of the series and recommend this series for fans of military science-fiction.

Copy paste & too many unanswered questions
As much as would like to see the end of this story, 7 books in, I have to call it quits and move on. Every new star system battle, and they were numerous, was a copy paste with minor changes. This became so monotonous, I would flip through 4 pages or more just to get through it. Why sacrifice so many Interceptors when they could have pounded the bases from space in safety after sefensive grids eliminated. After numerous star systems & battles they finally get intelligent enough to try it? When a book makes it's heros seem like morons, I lose interest pretty fast. If there was a reason why they could not accelerator cannon from space, why did they do it once. The force of a magnetic rail gun fired from space though gravity what be massive. If the point was to kill the planet, why not eliminate bases from space to reduce risk to pilots before nuking? This story will drag on atleast 2 more books at the copy & paste rate it is going. This book could have been written in 3/4 the pages and been worth the money by adding useful content like life aboard ship..

Great book
This was a great book. I love the mystery , Action, Intrigue , the hope And the love. All of these things are so important in a book. Sometimes authors don't put the right subjects in their books. I think you have done your father proud. You have followed after him in a very unique way..... Keep adding you're doing great.Thank you.

The Path to victory!!
I could not put this book down. It had me captured from beginning to end. I was not ready for it to end. This plot has been developing from book 1 and the anticipation level is high for what happens next. Great science fiction. Julie you are doing a great job of continuing the story your father started. I can hardly wait for the next book. Thank you Julie please don't stop.

way to go, Julie! Keep up the legacy
This latest installation in the Forgotten Empire is much appreciated. It continued the story with a good tempo and fidelity to the original author’s writing style and content. I could tell about mid way through that there would be a final book in this series, and that’s fine by me. I’m just glad that I don’t have to come up with the ending to this series in my own mind. Now I think that we get to coast into the final frontier of the Human/Confederation conflict and see all the important story lines come to a conclusion. Thank you, Julie, for bringing your father’s storyline to completion!

Like the last book, way to much repetition loops.
Loke the last book, way to much repetition loops. Most of the book was battles that were basically all the same thing jver and over with very small changes. I started skipping a LOT of pages because there is no real depth, no soul to the story for most of this book. Sad because this series started off with a lot of promise but it is as if the author now, is just filling pages with words and not putting any depth to the story itself anymore.

shames as it was a bit boaring
I felt this book did not really advance the story. Just a lot of the same battles with a few minor side stories that did not go anywhere. I feel the daughter who is now continuing the story is not sure how to keep up the momentum but hopefully the next book will be faster paced.

disappointing
Frankly little happens in this book. Same battles repeated over and over. This is so padded out… cynically so. Put me off carrying on with the story which is a shame.

More magic storytelling
The story is building nicely to its conclusion, you sort of know what the ending will be, but it’s the filling that puts the story into perspective.

Human space fantasy
Good mix of conflict and human angle, sometimes a little formulaic and slightly repetitive. Still holds your attention though with partial reveals.
