I didn't old work it, however if you measured the inside of the wall to the finished surface, subtract the depth of the box. Now cut a block to this measurement and glue it to the back of the space. Use this block to mount your box using screws, cut the finished surface to exactly the size of the box

Q: will this box work with the dx8 touch controller?

Yes. The dx8 controller fits nicely into this box.

Q: Going to use with the ledenet controller. Do screw holes sit horizontally or vertically?

I put a drywall screw through the side of the box into the stud, so the screws that the controller use go into the box horizontally
