So glad I decided on this suitcase
I waffled over whether this was a necessary purchase because we have quite a bit of luggage, but I am so glad I took the plunge. I finally realized that packing a large suitcase is just too heavy and unwieldy, not to mention that it just encourages over packing. I considered getting the carry on sized bag, but these days there’s no guarantee you will find room in the overhead compartments and it’s a little too small for my needs anyway. This medium sized bag holds a shocking amount of stuff. I packed for a week long trip and was able to get an entire CPAP machine/ bag, a very large toiletries bag, a pair of shoes, a large raincoat, a week’s worth of clothing plus two hiking poles and souvenirs into this bag without even having to unzip the bag to expand to gain the extra space. I got several compliments on the appearance of the bag. I like to check my luggage anyway, so this being bigger than a carryon is not an issue for me. The wheels seem sturdy and glided over uneven surfaces just fine. This is still new and I’ve only used it once, but I’m already considering getting more pieces from this company for family members or to add on for longer trips. The cost was quite reasonable in my opinion and I’m very glad I didn’t grab something at TJ Maxx like I was considering. They mostly carry hard sided cases, and after reading reviews of luggage in general I decided soft sided is what I wanted as the hard sided is more likely to crack and has no give. There are several pockets for organization. I chose the dark gray color and I’m very happy with it as it stands out at baggage claim easier than black yet seems like it will still show less dirt than a lighter colored bag.

The SwissGear Sion Softside Expandable Luggage is the "BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK"
I bought one just like this one about four years ago and it is still like new. My signficant other's birthday was comming up in September, so I asked her what she wanted, she replied a new suitcase. I went on AMAZON in march and they had the Swiss Gear Sion Softside Expandable Luggage in a 25 inch on sale for $110.00. I opened up an account with AMAZON and i got a free gift card for $80.00, I used to buy the luggage she wanted. The final cost was about $40.00. I looked at the color choices and bought the Teal color on, she loves it. This suit case is well built and has allot of room for cloths. The wheels are very sturdy and can spin around freely. It is light weight and easy to handle. There is a handle on the bottom and the side of the suitcase The top handle is made of strong metal and pulls out very easily, their is a release button on thop of the handle. It look good and is expnadable. The zippers are not cheap ones, they are very sturdy. This suitcase is comfortable to handle. The material is a very strong material and I never had any problems with it. Before I bought this suit case I read the reviews and what people had to say about this suitcase. Most of the reviews were very good. I basically went with my experince with the same one I bought four years ago and have done allot of travel with it. This suit case is built bullet proof. When you have a well built luggage like the SwissGear Sion Softside Expandable Luggage you take good care of it. It will last and perform like new for years. So if your in the market for a 25 inch check out SwisGear Sion Expandable Luggage you won't go wrong if you buy one. A buck well spent is a buck well spent. This piece of luggage is the best bang for your buck.

would buy again great brand
Quality product with good storage pockets and easy use zippers. Soft shell but durable. Wheels and handles are sturdy. We have bought in the past and this brand is our choice.

It's pretty good.
It's been in a few flights and overall it's pretty good. Now that I've used it a few times, my only complaints are these: 1. One of the zipper pulls broke on one of the front pockets. Unfortunately, it's the pocket with only one zipper pull, so if i want to use that pocket it's really irritating. 2. There are strings pulling from the rolled seam trim. I really hope this doesn't mean those pieces of trim are going to fall off at some point, but I'm a bit unhappy about that. And, 3. There is some similar thread pulls around some of the grommets, which has me concerned about the overall strength of the construction. At the moment these things are minor, but I do worry it will wear out long before it's time.

Great Product.
Since purchasing this suitcase, I have traveled only by car but it has been really good for basic family travel. Plenty of space. This case holds more than I thought it would. We ended up buying two.

Spinner Wheels Failed Almost Immediately
I purchased this SwissGear 25" Sion spinner suitcase in May 2026 specifically for a 30-day vacation through Europe that included several flights between countries. Unfortunately, it didn't even make it through the second flight before problems began. The suitcase handled the transatlantic flight without any issues. However, after the first European flight, the front spinner wheels locked up. Instead of gliding smoothly as a spinner suitcase should, it became a suitcase that had to be dragged behind me on the 2 rear wheels or push it at an angle to get the wheels to roll. It was impossible to roll using the extended handle, so I had to push it using the top carry handle through airports, train stations, and city streets. What should have been effortless became frustrating and exhausting. By the second leg of the trip, the zipper pull on the main compartment had torn off completely, making the suitcase even more inconvenient to use. After just three flights, the fabric was already showing noticeable wear, with several areas beginning to tear. I expected much better durability from a brand like SwissGear. For comparison, my wife traveled on the exact same flights with her two-year-old 24" Delsey hardshell spinner. Aside from the expected cosmetic scratches, her suitcase still rolls perfectly, the spinner wheels work as intended, and it has held up remarkably well despite being much older. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed with the quality, durability, and longevity of this suitcase. A piece of luggage should be able to withstand more than a few flights, especially when purchased for international travel. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this suitcase.

Fabric abrasion and stains wont come out
The first thing I noticed is the color is not quite as gray as the picture makes it look it's kind of a khaki undertone a very interesting color. I bought this to replace my 24-in black Samsonite that has problems with the wheels due in part I am sure to the airlines. I travel often for business and pleasure and did not want to spend a lot of money on luggage that's being checked. I use a Hartman softside carry onor a Delsey hard carryon and Ill never check those two. I went with a soft side to check in because it offers two nice size exterior pockets which I use often when I travel. Quality appears to be good but I will update my review after I fly to Miami and we will see what the airlines do to the suitcase. Has a nice removable zipper pouch and has a long interior zipper portion and a zipper on the inside of the lid straps appear to be very easy to adjust and the handle appears to be very good quality and I like how it has handles on the top and side. Wheels appear to be good quality but we all know what the airlines do to the wheels! This is why I refuse to pay a lot of money for anything that I am checking on an airlines. UPDATED: I probably should not have gotten this color as it is starting to show some spots perhaps a darker color would not. I've even tried cleaning in the spots will not go away. Also I've noticed that the fabric is experiencing some abrasion which I've never had with any other soft side suitcase brand. I use the suitcase often whether traveling by car or checking in with the airlines and have put one of those inexpensive fabric protectors on it which does help a little bit. 09.21.25 UPDATE: Fabric abrasion has increased around edges, even using luggage protection. So this must be happening when I taking driving trips. I've never had this happen with any other soft side suitcases.

Perfect suitcase
Swiss Gear is a brand of trust. I didn't think I would go wrong with this suitcase and I was right. Size is perfect and pockets are plentiful and spacious. The four wheels are incredible, no squeak or mobility issues, and it's really helpful to be able to move the luggage around straight up. Takes a lot of weight off shoulders. Handles on the sides are perfect for when lifting the suitcase vertically or horizontally. I used this for work trips and for personal trips and I don't anticipate needed a new one anytime soon.
