Okay… So There Is a Difference Between the $2 Edge Brush and the Fancy One 👀
The “Expensive Edge Brush” Experiment Was Actually Worth It 💇🏽♀️✨ My main question when I ordered this was whether there was really a higher-quality version of these little edge combs, or if this was just one of those “premium branding” situations where you’re paying extra for aesthetics and the name. Because let’s be real — most of us buy the little 3-pack edge tools from the beauty supply store for like $1–3 and call it a day. But this one is GENUINELY nicer.✨ The material immediately feels different. It has this soft matte finish that almost feels silicone-coated instead of cheap shiny plastic, so it’s much easier to grip while you’re styling. The little thumb indent is perfectly placed too, which sounds minor until you’re halfway through doing somebody’s hair and realize your hand isn’t cramping. The biggest difference for me is durability. The cheap ones always end up with broken comb teeth eventually, especially if you’re working with thicker textures or doing retwists. This one feels sturdier overall without being stiff or brittle. I mainly use this for my husband’s loc retwists and his 4C hair, and it works really well for that. The bristles are firmer, the comb is slightly wider/sturdier, and the whole tool just feels more ergonomic and professional in your hand. For comparison, my other favorite is the orange Goody Tru X Reyna Noriega collab edge brush ($10, pictured) — another branch of this “expensive edge brush” experiment 😂. I prefer that one for my toddler’s softer 3B/3C curls because the bristles are gentler, almost like a kid’s toothbrush (which is the ultimate budget edge tool, let’s be real). This Pattern one is definitely more suited for thicker textures, slicking, parting, and loc maintenance. Also, while the pointed tail end looks kind of blunt and rounded instead of super sharp, it’s actually surprisingly precise for parting. I expected it to be awkward because it doesn’t come to a super fine point, but it sections hair really cleanly. Another big thing: the bristles have held their shape really well even after repeated cleaning, and I haven’t had random bristles shedding everywhere like with some cheaper tools. So yeah… I went into this skeptical, but I actually do think this is one of those cases where spending more gets you a noticeably better tool.

Great product
Perfect for my daughter, so easy to use. Paid less on Amazon and it is the same product as going through the traditional website. Great quality she uses it daily.

My Favorite!
This edge tool is perfection! The size is just right — compact enough to control small sections but sturdy enough to handle thicker textures. The brush has a great weight to it; it feels balanced in your hand without being bulky or flimsy. It’s super durable — the bristles don’t bend or shed even after frequent use and cleaning. My favorite and most important…. The hold it helps create is amazing. For the price, the quality is amazing, making it a great value for money. Whether you’re doing sleek buns, detailed baby hairs, or everyday styling, this tool makes the process effortless and precise.

Very nice
I really like this thing. All in one and exactly what I needed for my little baby hairs. Has some weight to it. feels nice in your hand. Only thing I didn’t like was it smelled super weird when I got it. But I just washed it.
