My old electric toothbrush has just given up the ghost so I found myself scrolling Amazon to find a suitable replacement. When I saw this, I thought I’d give it a go to see if it’d live up to the hype.I clicked the io5 into my ‘Buy it Now’ and eagerly waited its delivery.It came quickly, I was expecting just a small box so I was delighted to see the slick packaging full of everything I’d need to get my io5 going. Complete with charging cable, the brush, the brush head, instructions, travel case and brush case. I was impressed to see the travel cases as it’s something I definitely need! I love the fact that I can pack my io5 hygienically up in seconds and get going without having to buy any additional accessories!As I unboxed the main brush, I knew instantly that this was an elite model. The smooth, suaveness of it made it feel very premier and unlike anything I’ve seen before. The digital display is a great addition too. I clicked on my brush head and instantly gave my new toothbrush a go!It took me a couple of seconds to realise how the Bluetooth works for the brush but I quickly paired my brush to my phone with the help of the easy instructions and a world that I didn’t know existed opened up in tiny app form. The oral B app is amazing, it allows me to track my duration of clean but, more importantly, how well I’ve cleaned each section of my mouth. I love how it breaks each area of my mouth into sections and makes it much more manageable!I scrolled through the different settings and found my favourite, it’s amazing how you can completely tailor the brush to your needs with 5 different programmes to choose from!As I began to use my new brush, I really enjoyed the way that I could track my progress on my phone to ensure a really good clean, my teeth felt immaculate after! There’s so many different journeys for your teeth health you can access via the app too, they’re so personalised and easy to follow at the click of a button.Although the higher end of the market, this brush is such a great purchase, worth the price and an utter game changer! Even my pre teen will use this, with a fresh head of course, and not make a fuss over brushing his teeth! I am definitely converted and won’t ever go back!

I previously used a cheaper Oral-B electric toothbrush but it broke so I decided to buy a new one. I was attracted to the iO5 with the variable modes including sensitive and super sensitive, Bluetooth connectivity to the app and the pressure indicator.Initially the price put me off but given the smart benefits and modes I bit the bullet and decided to give it a try.When it arrived, I found it was really easy to use and to switch between the different modes. I also liked the travel case that it comes with to keep it clean and safe in my wash bag.I used it straight away and found the pressure indicator was constantly showing red meaning I was being too harsh with my brushing. The next time I used it, I made more attention on the pressure indicator and kept it green 98% of the time. I was skeptical because I felt as though I was barely touching my teeth with the brush head but to my surprise, my teeth felt the cleanest they have ever felt at home with very little effort! I usually experience bleeding gums after using my previous toothbrush but with the iO5 I have not had this issue at all in the three weeks that I have been using it.My teeth and gums are already looking and feeling much healthier just from changing to the iO5 and my sensitivity is very much reduced.Would I buy it again or recommend it to anyone? The answer is a definite YES. Everyone always says, why pay so much for a toothbrush, the all do the same job. Before trying this product I would have said the same but right now I have to disagree and say it is worth every penny!

It has handy app and pressure sensor that shows if you are using the right sensor with different colours. But the battery needs to be charged too often. Probably only lasts about a week and a bit. Handy travel case.

I absolutely love it

I purchased the Oral-B iO5 mainly because I have sensitive teeth, and I wanted something that would be effective but still gentle. To be honest, I was quite hesitant at first, it sat in my basket for about 4 weeks while I kept going back and forth on whether it was really worth the price, as it’s definitely not cheap.But once I finally decided to go for it, I can honestly say I was amazed. This is my first electric toothbrush, and I now completely understand all those reviews comparing electric vs manual toothbrushes, they were absolutely right.The iO5 feels incredibly gentle on my teeth and gums, yet it cleans so thoroughly. After every use, my teeth feel like I’ve just come back from a professional dental cleaning, smooth, polished, and really fresh. I’ve never been able to achieve this level of cleanliness with a manual toothbrush before.What I really appreciate is how it’s designed for people with sensitivity. It doesn’t feel harsh or uncomfortable at all, and the different modes help you adjust it to your needs. It’s also helped me improve my brushing habits without even realising it.Overall, despite the initial hesitation, I genuinely feel like this toothbrush is worth every penny. If you’re on the fence like I was, especially if you have sensitive teeth, I’d say go for it. It’s made a noticeable difference for me, and I wouldn’t go back to a manual toothbrush again.

As a toothbrush it does everything it needs to do and it does it well. There are different modes in case you have sensitive teeth, extra sensitive teeth, need an extra deep clean, a whitening mode or just a daily clean. The coloured ring very clearly shows you when your pressure is right, or when it's too high or too low. I like that it buzzes at intervals so you know when to move on to the next section of your mouth to ensure everything is equally clean.But it can also do more than that! Connect it to the app on your phone and it can keep track of your sessions, tell you how well you did and it goes into detail. It's also super helpful that you can change the settings of your toothbrush! For instance, I changed the timer from 2 minutes to 3 minutes. And I know it's not important, but I also secretly really liked that I could change the colour of the light ring... :)The only thing I am not super impressed with is the battery life. It lasts about a week and half for me and I was expecting it to be longer - but this is still not bad so it's not a problem.

I've been an avid Oral-b user for years and finally took the plunge to invest in their iO series with their 5.Good Points -Once out of the box the whole thing is amazing.Great quality and the brush feeling after is top notch.Used with the app can improve your brushing routine.Bad Points -Using the app will take some time to get used too (I can never get all areas white within the 2 mins, isn't a problem as you can set the timer to whatever you want through the app).Battery is no where near 2 weeks, mine is more 7-8 days, maybe it's 2 weeks straight out of the box and not connected via bluetooth to your phone.Teeth tracking isn't 100% as you can be brushing one area of your mouth and the app displays another area, trial and error to get it working.Overall a good product.UPDATE 18th April 2023STAY AWAY. Since the app updated to version 9.3.0 then 9.3.1 I have had nothing but trouble. App tracking brushes that didn't happen, not tracking brushes that did happen and duplicating brushes (2 recorded 2 unrecorded) on the same day. Have spent weeks with the Oral-b customer support team via email including detailed descriptions of all the problems including pictures, but all they do is quote the instruction manual, now as off today, the brush handle will not charge. Other Oral-b electric brushes (2 x Pro 3000's charge, so not the chargers) charge fine.This is apparently a common problem with the iO range. My review stands in that the cleaning of the brush head on the teeth is first rate, but it ain't worth it.I sent the brush away for repair as it is under the 2yr warranty (must register). Received txt confirmation that it has been received at the service depot and updates will follow accordingly. Didn't hear anything for 4 weeks, emailed the service centre and did a get quick reply in that my brush is awaiting inspection and that they are under a backlog of repairs (wonder why) and should be seen in the next 7-10 days, again nothing heard for another 2 weeks, emailed again and was told that it is very close to being inspected.Another email was to be sent for an update and a package was delivered to my home (26th May 2023), on opening it was an brand new Oral-b iO6. No email/txt/call stating the outcome, but can't really complain as I got an upgrade at no cost.From sending away to receiving an upgraded replacement was roughly 8 weeks, from initial problems with the app to the delivery would've been roughly 14 weeks.I bought an iO7 as a replacement and since purchase I have not had a single problem. Brush firmware is different to the iO5.I do believe that the app update, then another update within 10 days caused the problem (I think the iO5 had a firmware update also) but I cannot be sure.

I bought the Oral-B iO5 to replace an older vibrating head toothbrush that was getting on a bit. And the dentist hinted I need to drop the pressure a bit. I've only had the brush 10 days, so this is my initial impressions.I bought the base model, so in the box I have a nice little travel case, a single head, a charger and a head hygiene case (not used or needed yet).Functions across the 5 you can feel a difference in intensity. I'd say sensitive and super sensitive are very similar. You can feel the step up from these to the rest.Pressure indicator, the reason I bought this, it's been really useful and considering how long I've been brushing my teeth I should be better at it. The dentist and the brush agree I'm pushing far too hard. I didn't have anything to gauge it before, but at least this let's me know.The Bluetooth function is pretty good. Being able to change the timer and review the spread round my teeth. I think I'll grow bored on this as I have it longer and start to get into a rhythm, but it's a good novelty at the moment.A small negative of this brush is the poor battery life. I've still given 5* as I believe it'll have a lot to do with how often I'm using the app and swapping between Intense and Whitening, the two power functions.I got this on a Prime Day Deal, so it was pretty decently priced. Just hoping the heads last longer than advertised, as they are a little pricey, might be worth it in the long run if the Whitening feature works.

El producto es muy bueno y buen precio

Good toothbrush, but the charger sent with it does not fit Irish plugs. It is very annoying to pay that much for a toothbrush, and having to buy another charger on top of it. Very disappointed by this.

En menos de 2 años se han deshecho los botones y me dicen desde el soporte de oral-b que es estético y que no se hacen cargo... Mucho menos duradero que un cepillo más barato que no sea IO.
