But I will say get some of the anti-fog inserts before using this. I didn’t know I needed them and all of my snorkeling footage is entirely ruined as a result.. **Q: Is the outside coating of the lens cover hydrophobic?** A: Yes **Q: How sturdy is the lock/latch? I had another housing and the latch was junk-attached by 2 thin metal 'fingers'.** A: latch is similar to original case, but with locking release lever to prevent from accidentally opening. real sturdy. **Q: how deep can this case go under water?** A: It is rated for 45 meters depth. But I would not take it quite that far. ## Frequently Bought Together - FitStill 196FT/60M Waterproof Case for Go Pro Hero 8 Black,IP68 Protective Underwater Dive Housing Shell with Bracket Accessories for Hero8 Action Camera - Artman Battery 1500mAh for GoPro Hero 8/7/6/5 Black and 3-Channel LED USB Charger Fully Compatible with GoPro Hero 8 Battery and Charger (3-Pack) - FiTSTILL 6PCS Screen Protector for Go Pro Hero 8 Black,Ultra Clear 9H Hardness Scratch Resistant Tempered Glass Screen Protector+Tempered Glass Lens Protector+Small Display Film Hero8Accessories Kit --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/446727222-fitstill-waterproof-case-for-gopro-hero-8-black-protective-underwater](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/446727222-fitstill-waterproof-case-for-gopro-hero-8-black-protective-underwater) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-15*
