Why did you pick this product vs others?: Look at a lot of them. Really wanted one to drive tent pegs in but did not mind having an aXe available. Perfext size for me. It feels right.

Item just arrived I took out of the box and felt it. I still havent taken the plastic wrap off the head but I had to write something about my first impression. So, this axe is supposed to be, according to the listing it's supposed to be forged carbon steel. This going in my day pack so I couldnt expect too much. I had been looking at the chinese Tivoli 9" axe for $36 bucks. Im really happy so far. My review is this axe is so close to perfectly balanced that it's a very good deal. I'll find out more when I go put an edge on her, but I think Im going to be pretty happy with this one for 14 bucks. Another thing I'd like to add, unlike the KSEIBI 14" Wood Axe I bought 2 years ago with a similiar plastic handle, this axe's handle is round instead of oval allowing me to get a proper grip on her. The KSEIBI gave me some bad blisters the first time I used it. ...... the next day, well I put an edge on this thing. Idk, I thougth the metal was coming off too easily. the axe had a shallow edge when it arrived so I just redid the edge by adding a bevel to it. I used the standard file I use for my lawnmower blades and the metal was coming off of this thing 5xs easier then my push mower's blade. ive got serious doubt about this being what the listing claims it is.

I use this in the flower beds to chop the volunteer trees at the roots when I can’t pull them. It’s the perfect size for my hand and the blade cover is a good safety feature since I tend to through it in the bottom of my gardening bag.

Decent little axe. Does not come with a sheath. Blade has some edge to it out of the box but will need sharpened for serious chopping. Good blade to handle ratio

Aside from it's Chinese origin, it's a sturdy seemingly will made small hatchet

This is good for chopping sticks and useless for anything else. The weight and balance is good. Not sure about its sharpness retention as I have no idea if this underwent hardening and annealing process at all.
