Massage Therapist Tool - Small - Red

After being a massage therapist for 25 years, my thumbs have started to give up on me. I was really thinking I might have to find a new occupation but after a friend told me about the Thumbsaver, I gave it a try. It really does take the pressure off the joints. The best part is my clients don't even know I'm using it.Only complaint is the small is a little tight and the medium is too long. I just use the small as I pop it on in off through out the massage so it's not too much of a discomfort.

Im a therapist, with 25 years under my hands. and this is a great tool. I was skeptical for my first 24 years (I had some old shcool crazy asian shiatsu teachers say if you want to do thumb work, do push ups on them) so my thumbs are super strong,I never wanted to use this even though it has been out there for years now because thinking this was some sort of highly plasticized texture, actually is texture is like a rubberized velvety skin so it glides well, feel like skin on skin contact. and will save yer thumbs.the size small is a great fit, i will work with two of them at the same time using my other fingers to palpate the area for contact.this holds your thumb joint very well so it can give it some relief from force while still delivering force to the patients muscles.obviously as the product description states, there is only one in the package, the picture shows the large size (blue) and small size (red)for very thin boned petite fingers, a small might be too big, but then again, if you are truly that small, i would wonder why you are doing massage like that, i doubt you would last very long physically, stick to light relaxing, oncology or geriatric work..OH yeah, i just remembered lots of people complain that their partner tires out giving a massage, this would be great for that also.

I’ve bought many of these over the 13 years I’ve been a massage therapist, but this one is a hard plastic without the softer, more rubbery feel that it used to have. It’s too hard & cold to feel like a thumb. I was so glad that I found an old one today to compare. I’m not crazy: it IS different! But why? I know the old ones didn’t last forever and eventually would crack, but they felt natural while they lasted The new design is useless to me. In the picture, the new design is the shiny one on the left.

The size fit perfectly for my thumb however the small holes quite sharp and it was cut my customer skin and she almost sue me. Most I love it

It's good when you need it, you can get used to it and it will feel fairly natural. No patitents have noticed it's use so far. Braces create weakness, I only use this when I am hurting to ease healing, not something I'd use regularly. It's basically a band aid for joint pain: temorary while I heal only.

This thumbsaver is a thumbsaver! Having been in the business for many years, I can tell you that when your thumbs go, from too many requests for 'deep tissue',if you are not doing it properly your thumbs will suffer.It will affect your work and believe me none of these people are going to offer to pay your grocery bill! UPDATE! - The company changed the material used to make this product and it no longer collapses after some use like the old ones did. The new material holds up great, and I have been using the new one for some time now with no ill effects. Clearly this is a company that listened to complaints and acted on them - so I changed my rating from 1 to 4 stars!I have also removed the photo of the old collapsed thumbsaver which I had posted.Old review:This could be a great product, but the holes in it, all lined up in a circle, compromise the integrity of the support. It eventually bends where the holes are, and becomes useless.When it breaks down, you can do nothing but buy another one. How many times do you want to do that, especially with what they are charging?

I don't like it. It limits the range of motion of my thumb. I prefer to work more specifically which this tool limits.
